Any one experience with Golden Carpentry Puchong? Not sure how is their service, quality and price. Can any one share?
*
I myself did not use their service but my neighbor and my friends did. Price is higher than the forum recommended KC shop. Quality wise is random as for my friend house looks good but for my neighbour house the workmanship is bad. So I can conclude that it depend which installer team they sent. You need to communicate with them clearly need a skillful team smile.gif

My friend do installation end of last year. Lots of problem from wrong measurement to delays coz she did not monitor the work. Planning also kaput, imagine the worktop put directly facing staircase with narrow space. End up having to tear up a few pieces and reinstall, have to pay extra cost and cabinet also not so good condition already.

I have bad bad experience with SCI KL. After full payment, the installer came late and installed cabinets in rush and spoilt all the kitchen cabinets badly. After complaint to salesman, have to keep on waiting and nothing done. Although 90% of my cabinets spoilt, salesman refused to change all cabinets for me. After long wait, i called it to manager. He refused to refund me. After days, he promised to change all cabinet for me and will find the best installer from sci to install it. He promised for no mistake anymore. But guess wat, same problem again. Just it is slightly better than last time. The table top have very poor finishing. I chose the most expensive Neolith as my table top. The joining part have very clear lines, marking and holes. Although it was seal with the transparent rubber liquid kind of things but its still very obvious. Its not concept 'Eco' as what they have mentioned, the cabinet inside smell badly after done.
Its just one of their marketing trick. I did complaint to NCCC for refund but Sci do not even reply their email nor call. After that i complaint to KPDNKK e-aduan and SCI replied that i should send my request to Tribunal Tuntutan Pengguna Malaysia (TTPM).
Please think, this company is really irresponsible for what they have done! After full payment, we as a consumer, cannot do anything after all!
They have serious problem such as miscommunication between the salesman, factory planner, factory driver and installer. Forgot to bring this and that. Came late not as promised. Cannot finish things on time. Used so many days to finish it. Did things wrongly and badly and most importantly, they refused to refund no matter how!

Really sucks!

i believe pictures should tell better than words in this case. I did my kitchen cabinet and wardrobe with them as well. i would give them 8/10.

Regarding the punctuality, i would say we need to be more patient especially in renovation services, i believe every KC company and renovation company will have this problem, some even cancel appointment and postpone to another day without prior notice. Imagine they have so many sales person(u can see in exhibition), they cant have so many installation team, and the problems come when their schedule and plan is out due to lorry broken down, half day delay can cause so many delay in the following cases.

In my case, i handle it with calm, as long the sales person pick up my call, answer my question, send their team to settle the problem, without running away from problem. There was one time they come to settle a small problem, promise to come at 3pm, end up reached my house at 5pm, i need to talk to security in order them to enter to do some small touch up, i can see they are really rushing, while chatting with them, there have so many cases everyday in the 'plan' but when something happen in between, it could mess up all their schedule. To me, it is understandable, because i m doing sales, running outside as well.

as for built quality, it is very much depends on your expectation, to me, all these are custom made products and fabricate in factory, build on site, every design is different, we cant expect the installation team to know what to do, and done perfectly. i live with small, hardly notice error, and request for touch up for bigger problem. never ask for to change everything, as it will cost more time and money.

as for your case, pictures will tell better, seriously in the market there are some company wont even show up for touch up after receive your full payment.

I'm beginning to see a possible inconvenient truth: it's possible that these home fair events have no "checks" on how good a company is before they are allowed to exhibit.

As long as the company pays the organizer some participation fee, then they get to join the exhibition. It's essentially an investment into advertising their services and solution to the market to generate sales.

Bigger kitchen companies, that are successful and know how to make profit (by either good service, or successfully getting customers despite overpricing their goods and services) pay more to event organizer and get prime spot at the fair, like signature kitchen and rowenda kitchen getting front entrance spots at homedec this year.

What do you all think of this year's homedec?

On the other hand, some kitchen cabinet that are also still good, but have no time to outreach to customers or should advertise more to get more customers, may simply decide not to advertise at fairs because they know people already coming to them, so they can't justify the cost of participating at the fair.

Am I right, or wrong?

Couldn't agree more what you have commented above, I'm surprise to see many people actually compliment SCI for cheap price, seriously?

I engaged with SCI for a wardrobe last year, I've been told that the dismantle, installation fee & transportation fee would only cost RM600 due to the fact that I'm moving this year, I thought the re-installation price was reasonable so I proceed to purchase from them. The nightmare begun when I wanted to get them to re-install my existing wardrobe recently, they quote me RM1.2k for the installation fee (double the price they quoted me a year ago), RM2k for 2.5ft wardrobe extension, sales man is really rude, telling me they're having shortage of installer n they actually outsource their installation service (now I understand why all the complaints of poor service). Worst part, he told me next year only they are free for my installation!

Deadly regret for purchasing from them, human, please don't follow my footstep, stay away from SCI! Their poor service and lies do not deserve your money.

So now I engage with a cabinet contractor for my new house (like you just said who never bother to exhibit but having so many customer jobs), price is way cheaper than what I've paid SCI, with excellent service, integrity and worth your trust and money.

Be wise peeps smile.gif

i have engaged SCI during home fair at KL. Before paying the deposit, everything is fine, agreed with 12 ft KC (bottom) + and 6 ft ( top- full ceiling height), 4ft Shoes rack ( Full ceiling height) ,TV console-6ft) and 12 Ft walk in wardrobe for 17k...pretty reasonable price. i did highlight to the SA tat all my cabinet need to be up to ceiling height..he agreed and we pay the 10% deposit. Nightmare began when few mths later we called them for site measurement. The SA informed that he cant provide mi full ceiling height as my ceiling is too high, their standard definition for full height is 7ft only, while i need to pay for the extra .. the 2nd quotation was sent, and give me a heart attack...the price increase from 17k to 30k!...We decided to go for another 2 new quote from the KC contractors which are recommended by Lowyat Forum. Thanks god, the new quote is only 17k with all full ceiling height.

Hi Santino & kristenliow, do you mind telling me who your cabinet contractor was, and if you could, some pictures of your new kitchen? thumbsup.gif
