thanks for clarify for the upholster issue. if just the looks, then i guess the seats are not that obvious in differences if they're not put side by side.

well, this time they did fixed the front portion of the car, looks more balance now. my only complain is the back is a little bit too tall and too short but its ok, looks like gen2. maybe a little longer back will make it even perfect.

QUOTE(devinz @ Dec 16 2008, 11:11 AM)
there is an extra D3 at the Gear for S spec only
Is the same configuration with current civic and accord. If come with Paddle Shift you gear will be like (P,R,N,D,S)
If no paddle shift will be (P,R,N,D,D3,2,1)
Should already be available now, depending on SA if they allow "sneak preview".
Official date will be 18th definately car will be there on 18th...

Added on December 16, 2008, 11:15 amI see now this city is so much better equipped compare with my 2mths old civic..darn..abit jealous seh...

My civic is 1.8..so looking at what you guys gonna get seems like such a good buy with lower price!
*
you cant compare your civic 1.8 with new city 1.5
there is stil la difference such as soundproof,
i still remember the soundproof of city on the roof =.= it is so bad until you can hear the "ting tong" sounds when rain water drops on the roof

Gen2 looks like it doesn't have any back. It is looks like an aeroback.

I hope that Honda has improved the soundproofing of the new City.

paultan.org discuss about the new City being transported on trailers in Malaysia:

A new review from oneshift is added on first page, a recommend read!

due to their poor sales of city during the past 5 yrs, i think maybe they're making a big come back this round. btw, what does the 'S' gear stands for for spec E, sporty mode?
if by that time the interest gets even lower, maybe still can consider spec E rite. im getting later than you...

o ya, W.ROOK did mention about the differences about the upholster between the two specs, did he meant the quality of just the looks?
*
S mode actually means "Sporty". When engaged in "S" you gear will change at a higher RPM providing more torque. On top of that, it is also a mode for you to activate Paddle Shift (manual). rclxms.gif
Not sure about new City but in current Civic after 2007/8 batch, in D mode paddle shift will activate overdrive or (semi auto- up/down 1 gear) thumbup.gif

Civic roof sound proof also on the noisy side, dude..notice this is the same as later generation car, as my friend Camry also have quite loud rain tok tok sound compare with previous Altis... vmad.gif

That's impressive, just like those flappy pedal gearbox in Ferrari. laugh.gif
Anyway I realized there isn't any gear change indicator on the meter panel.

ya, its very impressive but its also fuel guzzling at the same time. o well fuel is cheap now lol. i remembering the current city u just need to flip the paddle then its activate already, anytime when your driving. so the new one has to manually shift to gear S to activate it?

The VID seems to only display how many km travelled and temperature. I think that small display on the right would be the one.

I saw a blue Thai registered new City on the road a couple of months back, just a week after it was launched there. Looks much better in real life. It looks definitely bigger than the old one.

Less than 2 days to go.
Can't wait.. hehe!
Think I'm 60:40 in favour of switching to the E-Spec.
Then again, might have to wait till Feb - March though if I do so.. Hmm

If it is similiar with current Civic 2.0 and Jazz then...

In S spec, OD will be at D3
where else in E spec, OD can be activated in D mode by pushing +/- (which changes 1 gear only and back to norm gear in maybe 10-20 sec..)

If shift to S mode, gear will be 100% manual where you can redline until rev cut... thumbup.gif

Disclaimer: Based on my understanding on the setup on both Civic 2.0 and Jazz..
May not be 100% accurate in the new City setting.. whistling.gif
