El,

For S- spec there is only 4 speakers, 2 at the front door and another 2 behind the rear seat

where else for E spec there are 6 speakers, same as above but rear passenger door has another 2.

Tweeter only for E spec.

Added on December 15, 2008, 7:47 pmSteve, if you notice the materials for the seat and door upholstery, they are different between the 2 specs
Although both are Black but E spec materials looks better.

Added on December 15, 2008, 7:51 pmOne more thing, there is an extra D3 at the Gear for S spec only. hmm.gif
*
there is an extra D3 at the Gear for S spec only
Is the same configuration with current civic and accord. If come with Paddle Shift you gear will be like (P,R,N,D,S)
If no paddle shift will be (P,R,N,D,D3,2,1)

QUOTE(Vv.SoViEt.vV @ Dec 16 2008, 10:57 AM)

QUOTE(elru @ Dec 16 2008, 11:42 AM)
due to their poor sales of city during the past 5 yrs, i think maybe they're making a big come back this round. btw, what does the 'S' gear stands for for spec E, sporty mode?
if by that time the interest gets even lower, maybe still can consider spec E rite. im getting later than you...

o ya, W.ROOK did mention about the differences about the upholster between the two specs, did he meant the quality of just the looks?
*
S mode actually means "Sporty". When engaged in "S" you gear will change at a higher RPM providing more torque. On top of that, it is also a mode for you to activate Paddle Shift (manual). rclxms.gif
Not sure about new City but in current Civic after 2007/8 batch, in D mode paddle shift will activate overdrive or (semi auto- up/down 1 gear) thumbup.gif

QUOTE(dororo @ Dec 16 2008, 12:25 PM)
you cant compare your civic 1.8 with new city 1.5
there is stil la difference such as soundproof,
i still remember the soundproof of city on the roof  =.= it is so bad until you can hear the "ting tong" sounds when rain water drops on the roof
*
Civic roof sound proof also on the noisy side, dude..notice this is the same as later generation car, as my friend Camry also have quite loud rain tok tok sound compare with previous Altis... vmad.gif

Part of GCON or stuff? or something like pedetrian safety measure by Honda? Dunno... blink.gif

That's impressive, just like those flappy pedal gearbox in Ferrari.  laugh.gif
Anyway I realized there isn't any gear change indicator on the meter panel.

If i am right could be the rectangle near the fuel meter...(next to "E")?

there will be no more OD mode for both spec is it ?
*
If it is similiar with current Civic 2.0 and Jazz then...

In S spec, OD will be at D3
where else in E spec, OD can be activated in D mode by pushing +/- (which changes 1 gear only and back to norm gear in maybe 10-20 sec..)

If shift to S mode, gear will be 100% manual where you can redline until rev cut... thumbup.gif

Disclaimer: Based on my understanding on the setup on both Civic 2.0 and Jazz..
May not be 100% accurate in the new City setting.. whistling.gif

I believe we shouldnt discuss about other ppl way of financing here.
I am sure those who commit, knows what they are doing and they are the one facing the impact later on. Not us. right? whistling.gif
Whether or not how you and me manage our finances are different from individual to individual. Some believe, short term loan is better but the argument is, if you are also having a housing loan..would you throw the spare money you have to your car or house. For me, i would rather throw in my house as house loan is calculated progressively. Car loan, otherwise, once committed no matter how early you settle also you have to pay same amount.

Different ppl got different perspective in life. Some might want a stable journey till the end, in another chap he may wants to at least enjoy the moment, touch wood, none of us can be sure how long we can live.. right? At least the chap who take the risk, end of the day he can proudly say "I tried it" and he can go peacefully. cool.gif

seem like S spec is sufficient enough wor. the major benefit of E spec is juz 6 speakers, steering audio, 16' rim for me. other is juz not neccessary. not much diff. i rather choosing S spec with adding 5k for modulo instead of adding 5k for E spec.

Paddle shift is something we cant get in aftermarket. mad.gif
End of the day, tepuk dada tanya selera.. drool.gif

Like me, I wanted a 2.0 Civic very much esp paddle shift, auto cruise, HID, but end of the day I just wanna make sure i dun spent too much on petrol..coz its a direct soft cost..if u use the car, you need it.. i do not want end of the day, i got the car but cant bear to drive it due to high petrol price. Takkan put in house showroom only right? brows.gif

Now with 1.8 although i dun have the above, I have the allowance of revving the engine and enjoy most of my iVTEC, coz no matter how my petrol is manageable... icon_idea.gif

guessed slightly out of topic..anyway, just consider 5K and how tight you are with 5K and how much you love the paddle shift..

For me, i know i love the paddle shift so am looking either keep the car for 2 yrs and pass to my fiancee and me get a 9th gen civic with paddle shift OR try brainwash my fiancee to change her Myvi to CIty (with paddle shift of coz!) icon_rolleyes.gif

Try Raytech Armourcoat.. I am using currently, very happy with the result... rclxms.gif

For Air Cool, I asked before and it costs approximately 1.2k
*
Air Cool, also security film? or normal solar film?

Mine is 4mil (security film) Raytech with 95% IRR rejection..
RM 2K (inclusive of my SA commision)..

Walked in should be around RM 2.4K as I asked before going with my SA.

QUOTE(sysh @ Dec 18 2008, 05:50 PM)
Yea.. I do agree that there were a bit too much plastic to my liking. But it was within my expectation (judging from the photos). The Vios' interior on the other hand is decent, but rather spartan and dated. Something which turned me off a little. But I can't we can't really compare like with like (i.e. Civic) as the price differential is RM25k onwards. You pay for what you get. But in the end, it is a definitely step up from the previous model as the pronounced front is very eye-catching. A definite trump over the dugong Vios.
*
In my humble opinion, the best comparison is against the previous generation City rather than comparing to diff class Civic. We pay what we get, in the case, we cant compare civic against accord or even Mazda 6. Its a different beast altogether. Furthermore, yes, we are paying 90K a high price, thus we expect more. But come think of it, its only an entry level model which suppose to be priced just like a Gen2 (1.6) or lower? Its our country automotive policy that jacked up the price, btw. doh.gif

Vios is also a good comparison as consider from same segment. HOWEVER, do not only lament on the -ve but look also at the +ve of a CIty against Vios. I am sure there is a balanced or slightly sided to 1 in comparison. brows.gif

As long majority aspect are step forward is better than a step backward.. icon_rolleyes.gif

Guys..just back from the show room. I have test drive the car....anyone notice...this car don't have auto lock??? The previous version, when i press the minyak, the car will auto lock...but surprisingly...this car never lock....what happen to the lock???
*
i think this is the current set up for Honda. Both Civic 1.8 or 2.0 also same.. there is a lock switch at the power window switch. Need to lock and unlock manually.. mad.gif

QUOTE(wackyflik @ Dec 18 2008, 08:44 PM)
really meh??? i didn't get a chance to test drive. if this is true, than it is similar with civic 1.8.

Similiar to 1.8 and 2.0 Civic blink.gif

QUOTE(Sitting Duck @ Dec 18 2008, 09:32 PM)
Hi Guys,

Just want to know, let's say i go and buy number plate myself from JPJ, does that mean that the Sales office need to give me back RM50? RM50 is for physical number plate on the car or getting the number from JPJ?

Grade S
Car: RM82,272.50
Road tax: RM90
Reg. Fee: RM150
Number Plate: RM50 <----
Owbership Endorsement Fee: RM50
Insurance: RM2,367.50
Total: RM84,980.00
*
If I remember correctly its for the physical plate. I asked for custom made so to speak, supposingly need to pay my SA additional RM 80. But end of the day, he said..never mind.. cool2.gif

Check with your SA see how this apply to.. If needed verify with other source from Bros here with info from different SA.

Is it true that new City doesn't have auto lock when the car moves? What about auto unlock when you switch off the engine like the previous gen City? Can anyone who has test driven the car confirm this?
This auto lock and unlock feature is important.
*
Most civic bro gets this add on out side. Try check GC Motorsport. Some claimed they can do it without disturbing the warranty. cool2.gif

QUOTE(andrekua @ Dec 19 2008, 12:45 AM)
There is nothing that cant be duplicated except DNA. Whether you got the right machine or not is another question.

Vibration sensor in a 90k car? I dont think so. Movement sensor? Most probably. Vios has this option from way back then. Lock myself in the car to sleep under the shade and suddenly alarm rang when I turn my body. LOL...
*
Its a ultrasonic sensor same like Civic..detect movement in cabin when alarm is arm. brows.gif

QUOTE(ivtec2 @ Dec 19 2008, 02:55 AM)
I registered and got my fav number last week cost RM210 in JPJ. I passed the receipt of number plate registration to SA for registering my car. However we did talked about the OTR price but it seems RM50 is still charged. So i will make a guess that RM50 is for the physical number plate.
Anyone got different thoughts?
However, I applied MBB loan 80k with 2.8% for 7 yrs.

Guys, I read a lots in forums and mostly go with V-kool, Rike Cool and 3M's Crystal Line 70. I personally haven't see 3M's quality before but already committed to put 3M CR70 on my new City. Estimate cost is RM2000-RM2200. Heard the SA said price is going up on January unless book the current price with with some minimal downpayment wo~ Any advise on this? btw, I'll be taking the 1st batch as well and I'm taking Crystal Black. Though all friends advice not to take black, which personally I like PMM which present "class", however, This city looks more sporty for me and I've decided to get black.
*
Consider Raytech Armorcoat. 95% IRR. Excellent for me for 2K price tag. thumbup.gif

I read somewhere, that once car is locked the lid cant be open.."arm as well?"

i ask for V kool elite is rm2400 hope can discount, the SA not yet confirm for us.

Advice on tinting, if you are gonna use smart tag or GPS, suggest to get the tint with ceramic based. VKOOL is metal based and some basically face the problem using smart tag and getting GPS signal.

This is one of the reason I opted for Raytech as they are based on ceramic. Just my 2 sen... icon_rolleyes.gif
