oris i think is quite "normal" compared to brands like tag?
btw 5k cant get a good a tag rite?

any model which is classy for ball?

thanks
*
hi de.crystal

all these brands have nice websites. google them and you can see all the amazing pictures....pick what you like, and then post here...maybe you'll get some quick reviews...

buy what YOU want.

Some of us here are into movements, history (since this is watch lovers forum)
Some of us here are into looks.....as long as design suits their taste, they will go for it..
Some of us here are into brand...

so while its good to hear people's opinion, buy what you want.

Exactly what bro nando says, go to the shop and try it out, see which one that sing to you.
People opinion doesn't matter, as long as you like the design and bring joy to you.
*
yeah...i got friends who saw a quartz but fell in love with design...no matter how i poked fun at him and say you're paying for the designer brand...he still loves his watch...

just like how i cannot understand why people put in 10k worth of ICE and sound system on a 5 year old Waja..but then...that's life...

that is so normal. i dont even wear any watches when i visit these stores...i had a bad experience once..wearing a cheapo walking into a store. the manager saw my watch and the service level became very uninviting..hehehe

but ck77 is right...its YOUR $ and THEIR sale...if they dont want your business...other people want....hahaha

Better not to stereotype all teenagers. I'm in my early 20s and I know my stuffs, not just because "kids" who look at tags do not know about pammy. Watches like glashutte original, gerald genta, lange n sohne, FP, AP and the list goes on are not quite hype in Malaysia's market. First of all, the earning power of Malaysia is disappointing, an average joe won't be able to spend like say 50k on an AP. Hence, they won't even bother walking into shops like SINCERE and not know about it. Different strokes for different folks, and yes I'm the type who looks at the outlook first before the movement. Btw, cortina watches do give a big chunk of discount when they have private sales for CIMB preferred members smile.gif
*
i would think the main problem is the terrible exchange rate. Fellas neighbor down south earning Sing dollars maybe can fork out 4kSing for a brand new Omega. Our 4kRM can only buy you a decent Oris/Ball.

ck77, I also kena poison by omega PO. Hahaha.

terence: I can get a fair deal for you for Tags as long as you're keen in getting it smile.gif The price control was an agreement all the watch companies in malaysia had to control the price for their benefit, they had a meeting before deciding it as too much grey market people getting stock from some of the shops and spoilt the market back then. This was what I'm told by my AD.
*
which PO poisoned you? the black dial with orange numbers ah? hehehe

any idea when is the CIMB Club sales at Cortina Watch ?  brows.gif
*
bro, u can try going to watchuseek site and go to the Omega forum.
then you go to the topic `can anyone send me a link to the favourite Omega AD'.

apparently, there is a US based AD selling Omega at low range of pricing. But they cant advertise it on the forum. So you need to go to that topic and say you would like to know about this AD...

Then, you will receive a pm to tell you who the AD is...you can then contact him via email...

i was quoted about USD2695 for leather and USD 2765 for bracelet. After adding in delivery and rest, you may end up paying less than RM9500 for a brand new PO, which i think still cheaper than getting from our local AD...

however, the issue is whether you're comfortable buying online. I know this US based AD is quite popular among the Omega forummers in watchuseek.com. But whether you can rely on him for international sales, i am not sure....

No la, I bought it last year. You can try ebay, lyn, malaysian watch forum, lelong & mudah (beware of fake!!). If you can take more risk, timezone, watchuseek.

Maybe I want to sell mine is the price is right, hehe. You interested?

Any of you guys ever bought a watch from www.collectorstime.com? Quite skeptical about buying online as don’t know how authentic the watch is, plus unsure about claiming warranty as not all manufacturer have distributors here.
*
no (or not yet) but heard positive reviews about him. i think can guarantee authenticity. if you KL based maybe he can do COD.

true that 1U Watchshoppe does see u in a different way.
I was once served with an attitude what i cant afford to buy the Tag.
The malay lady was looking at my watch and i was like "Wxx" looking down on me.

A month later i visited them again to check on their stock availability and is gone.
This time i try not wearing anything with formal attire. Well, they are looking at me and serve me slightly better than previous visit.

Think is a norm thing in M'sia ppl "scan" their customer from head to toe.

Oh guys, my bro was asking me to consider Omega watches...any nice Omega watches can reckon? Since Omega > Tag
*
Omega? try the seamaster series..Planet Ocean....quite nice design...reputable co-axial movement too

friend of mine bought the orange one last week in a sale.....he may want to sale because he wants bracelet, not leather. Only the leather was available during the sale and since the discount was good, he went for it...

in fact I would go for a Entry level auto Omega

hm.....i saw something better than the Louis Erard you recommended from JW...
a pre-loved Sinn Regulator....almost 3 years old, at 65% of retail price...hmmmm..nice

Isn't Seiko Prospex auto not cheap? ~US$600-700 or am I wrong?
for that price.. I rather get a Guinand G-330M (German brand owned by Sinn Founder, used to make Sinn watches, maybe Bell and Ross too in the past)

i didnt mean nicer as the Sinn is better then the Louis Erard per se...but nicer in sense that i like it more....

well, if the LE is attractive to miaopurr..., yeah.... maybe make more economical sense to pay less for a brand new piece.
