second time zone on 24 hour basis, what if there's a second time zone which is off by +3:30 hours?

correct me if i am wrong, but resistant to low pressure at high flight altitudes..isn't it the same as pressure resistance to 20 bar? bar isn't a resistance to water depth but pressure.. the pressure at high altitudes and deep sea diving is the same force

and what is TEGIMENT?
*
i googled Tegiment....
tis is what i got
any Sinn watches are fitted with Tegimented cases produced in-house by Sinn's case making company in Glashutte, Germany.

Standard steel used by most watch companies has a hardness of between 200 and 240 HV (Hardness Vickers is a common scale used to measure material hardness). The Tegiment layer has a hardness of 1,200 Vickers which is five times harder than standard steel (and on some Sinn models even higher - up to nine times harder than standard steel).

The Tegiment layer is not a coating consisting of a foreign material, instead the steel itself that has been hardened using a special engineering process that creates a hardened barrier. The base material is a type of stainless steel also used for surgical implants, and the stainless steel resistance to corrosion is even further improved by the Tegiment hardening process.

The primary advantage to a Tegimented case is extreme resistance to scratches and other case abrasions.

nando, you don't have swiss watch now? I thought you got a few?
Anyway, my vote go for Sinn, for its name and the material used. I do like the tube gas of Ball, but I find its price is on the high side.
*
i got 2 poor man's Tissot only ..3-4 years old...quartz....if paste here all the sifus laugh..hahaha..

so i consider my coming purchase to be the first `luxury' item.....
too bad...no-one giving me 15k present..haha!

Interesting you mention price....that's one of the reason why i am debating on the Ball...the original price is RM..9500..AD will give 30% discount, so it will be selling at around RM 6600. Someone is selling his 1 year old good condition Ball Dual Time for RM4700..if i consider in terms of value....this looks live value for money...

Of course the Sinn brand new is about RM5000.....

Or is it a case of Ball pricing already too high in first place....i thought Ball watches always value for $? hmm.gif hmm.gif

Ball is value for money, but this model the price is on high side, in my opinion la.
Since you read many forums, any shortlisted watches in your mind?
*
hehehe....at present..the Sinn U1 and 857 impress me.....

i also kind of like the Oris i posted..the Limited Edition Hunter

although i am also keen on the PO Seamaster....

thought long and hard about the Jean Richard Bressel...decided no for now....

yeah...i love the U1...clean and simple and yet speak ACHTUNG... if order online from Sinnwatches.com...the rubber-strap U1 is slightly less 4.5k...

My goodness...left you guys alone for a while and all kinds of poison and temptations comes in..
anyway...
notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif those who contributed with facts, 2nd hand for sales and pictures...

but honestly, when it comes to the pictures and those advertisements....i've seen them ALL.....yeah....even the famous Prof Harry Tan's review when it first arrived in Singapore tongue.gif tongue.gif
Been browsing plenty of Sinn pictures and forums myself....I also checked regularly at the Singapore Rolex forum (other watches for sale...)..yeah...they have Sinns for sale almost every day...

the funny thing is the price higher than buying new online! rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

Not keen to spend more....i know the higher range of the Sinns offer higher technology...but hey...i am not deep water diver or a man needing chronograph every day.....perhaps only need a 2nd time zone.......but quite big price difference...the U2 and U1....I guess Argon is expensive eh...(hahaha)

Anyway.Jason......thanks for the tips on the Ball Spacemaster..but not really keen on the design for now...(or maybe i need to learn and read more about it...)...the only reason why i considered the Ball Aviator Dual time strongly was that there is a less than 1 year old good conditioned piece for sale at reasonable price....RM4.7k
But since all the sifus here seems to think that even that is too much to pay for a watch with dual time and lots of lume...i guess it make sense...

Here are some of my poison photo collection...as of now...still not sure yet of getting the classic U1 or the U1 SDR.....also...Ringgit still gaining against Euro...so still greedy...hehehe

Attached Image Attached Image Attached Image Attached Image

yeah....agree 100% with ck...buy what you like...that is why after so long....still havent make the kill.....want to make sure am really happy with it loooooog time!

don't wait wait and price kept increasing..
I waited for my JLC for like 10yrs+ b4 I make the kill.. when 1 1st saw it I could have bought in with most of my savings..
was only around 4K then for a basic reverso today its at 15K retail.
anyway now I own my reverso duo day-nite for a few yrs now.. if waited today its retailing at ~rm$25k
*
hi patryn and ck..

about price increase..the Sinn is unique case...because i am thinking of buying online (charged in EURO)..the price has decreased over the last 2 months due to stronger ringgit!

of course, everything can change if Sinn raise their price by 10%....but i've asked them and they said no price raise for now.....So i actually have a target price..once hit..i'll go for it..

i think for past 3-4 months...anyone set on buying their piece with USD/Euro would have seen lower pricing...heck...even collectorstime Jean Richard Bressel i was saying...when i first saw it ...it would have cost about RM6500..today its only RM 6010 (although i must say..its already sold...)...

for omegas, rolexs..or buying from local AD...yeah...price go up, no down one! more stronger that those pills meant to make 'things' go up

bro nando, the Ball Mad Cow is ~RM5.8k iirc. brand new.

patryn33: what i wanted to point out is that I was making an objective comparison between the two. whether the feature is used or not is another story and that should be left to the person actually buying/using the watch. can we agree on that? smile.gif
*
i was talking about the SpaceLume...is it same like MAd Cow? (sorry, am only familiar with Aviator series in Ball...)..
MAdcow...5.8k retail before usual AD discount right?

to be fair...always hear Ball is quality..although never owned one...always praised for finishing, design, quality..

I did... quite a few.. but U need to know where. try WUS/Timezone/pmwf etc to check out if they are good dealers.
I am in States so its much easier for me to deal with these stores..
collectorstime.com is based in KL.. U could email them and arrange to meet and buy.
*
you're fortunate...Singaporeans too...
Watchuseek and the Singapore rolex forum are 2 good and active places for getting pre-loved....

For Watchuseek....Problem with me is i dont do ebays...and i am not familiar with rules of buying watches from another person.....so i dont dare to jump in..anway..a lot of watches in WatchuSeek is CONUS...(only for USA trade only...

Been browsing the Singapore Rolex forum for past 2-3 weeks....amazing....Pams, Omegas, Rolex, Sinns....all you need is to just paste an advertisement, then SMS to meet somewhere in Singapore...and bang!! deal done!! Heaven for flippers!!

terence, can be ur bro? i've got a 8 year old seiko dunno what model already

HW Racer, i just got back from The Gardens' Hour Glass. they don't have the tempus. the only U1s they have is the regular and the SDR.

tried it on, but kinda big. not used to big watches. 44mm diameter on 6" wrist. the SDR price is more expensive than buying online. difference about rm1.5k hmm.......

just one thing i need to ask you guys. if i buy online from let's say sinnwatches.com, when i want to make a warranty claim, can i send the watch to hour glass malaysia or do i have to send it back to sinnwatches.com? i don't really understand the meaning of 'international warranty'. hour glass say that sinn is their house brand. what does that mean?
*
u interested in Sinn too bro?

If not mistaken, Hour Glass selling U1 /SDr for about RM 6k right?

would a 44/46mm diameter with 50mm lug-to-lug watch look suitable on my wrist?

the smaller U200 SDR then? only 37mm but the price is approaching the U2 ...

there is another JR listed I think design better than the Bressel that was sold.
Jean Richard Paramount Sebring MB Limited only 500 pcs. @ RM$6340
- date
- pwr res
- 30m
- 10JR base on JR1000
http://www.collectorstime.com/new-watches.php
nice...but not really fancy square dials (for now)..maybe i wait for the Bressel Alternativ....the time looks easier to read...although it can look a bit busy because there's an additional hand for the date...
