if i were u, I wouldn't take ML.. would choose a Longines Masters L2.666.4.51.8 , 42mm case with date and pwr res. just as dressy looking.

i never buy any watches above US$600 on ebay
even b4 I buy I would message a few random buyers to check their reviews or post in those forums for insight.

i think the alternative to the submariner is the omega seamaster...

bro..sound advice you given to me. i looked at the Ball again and the feeling didn't grow on me, I feel the numbers were a little too loud for me and I'll probably get tired of it after a few years.. certainly not a piece I'd keep for long. The Carrera, I've been in love with it for quite sometime, just back then finances did not allow to splurge.... i went to an AD and tried the oh-so-common Tag Heuer Carrera CV2010.. case a bit thick but feels great on the wrist.. unlike the Oris TT3 which didn't feel comfortable.

but the AD damn lansi and look at me like I can't afford it. this was in BTS. anybody got friendly AD for Tag to recommend in Klang Valley who would be happy to give discounts? please do PM me. i am -THIS- close to buying one. patryn33? Jr.Koh? please do share 

the other watch which I'd like to try before i pull the trigger on the Tag..

i find the day, date is good to have. the 2nd time zone can be very useful when travelling, and moonphase is just cool.. surely more useful to me than the chronographs..since I don't have to time anything..even if I did.. i've got a frogman that does it better..lol.

this reminds me a lot of the IWC Portoguease Chronograph..due to the arabic numbers

Archimede is nice, I especially like the Arcadia line. that being said, I prefer a manufacturer with pedigree.. to me, the Archimede is just a watch assembler, buys movement from ETA and slaps it into a case. i wouldn't even call them a watch maker. Anybody care to share the history of Archimede? If they even have one?

From the same country, Sinn, a relatively young company (the company been around since 1961, but adopted the name in 1994). they try to innovate, with anti-magnetic case, escapement without lubricant, special oil to allow operation in extreme temperatures etc. I would say these are the true bang for buck watches. Sinn even manufactured watches for B&R once upon a time.

Another notable manufacturer from the same country.. Nomos..but that's a story for another day.

By the way, I was wondering, you guys prefer watches with
1. day AND date.. must have
2. date...must have
3. doesn't matter

i find myself in the 2. category.. while I don't use it often, its important when I do.. especially filling up forms.

at least 40% off current retail price is my guess.

suprisingly..my previous ball firemen...retain its value pretty well.... i have a number of
automatic watches... and after selling my firemen for the night train... realised that i like
the firemen more than night train.... And now I am aiming to get a Omega PO...
should be around RM11K after discounts....
saw the new brietling superocean at pavillion...after discount around RM7K++

3 options I can think of,
1. Get after market (none Omega) leather strap
2. Get the PO with rubber strap
3. Go PS get the 'ahem' Omega bracelet 

so any further discount for Tag? i have esquire only 18% or some control price0 tag without discount (recently from the manufacturer)

I can get slightly more than 18% for sure from my AD for any TH model except for LE if you're dealing with cash Anyone can get better than 20% off for omega from any AD in msia?

with leather strap RM8K++ was sold...and left a black/red dial Speedmaster RM6K++...
