yea that's what i'm trying to say with the currency not so stable in uk so the price might a little bit cheaper than malaysia....oh i'm a student here and i got a valid NUS card..yeah....15% discount is it....so the 17" is 16++ rather than 19++.....WAHHH....save money eat maggi and doner kebab onli....you can do it....
oh ya btw i'm using eee pc now....1000H....m loving it...and that's the reason i need a new laptop...MAC>.....

if you want to buy it online you can go to your uni campus computer and order it through apple higher education store (only accessible thru the uni network) you have a massive saving if you get the 17" model but that is if you can live with the weight tongue.gif you save like total of almost 300 pounds if u get that.

this is guaranteed cheaper than buying in Malaysia tongue.gif but the only minus point is you will get the UK keyboard unless u BTO from Apple Higer Edu store.

In order to reclaim your 15% VAT, you need to purchase your macbook 3 months (or less) before you leave UK.

has it revert back to 17.5% yet? or still 15%?

goliath, my wife is using a student visa, she came back for her holidays, but its seems that with valid visa's , kenot claim the VAT, unless she comes back during the end of her visa, does it work that way?

I'm not too sure what's the current VAT.

I guess you have to prove that you won't be making any trips to UK any time soon in order to claim the VAT and hence, purchasing within 3 months or less.

If there's a ext Sound Card can boost the quality of MBP (without using usb) that will be excellent smile.gif

i checked with UK immigration law and to my finding, if you are able to proof that you are leaving he country for good you hsould be able to claim back the VAT for certain items you bought in he 3 months period before you leave the country.

If you have a student visa that is expiring soon and you are flying back then u should be able to claim back the VAT. If you are a resident of UK/EU and you can provide any proof that you will be leaving the country for at least 12 months, then they will grant you the VAT redemption too.

Back to the topic. get the ACPP together. really worth it only like 50+ pounds extra. retail is around 300 for macbook pro.since you are going to get it during the summer, you might as well wait till before the school starts for the Back to school promo with "free" ipod smile.gif
