My dad bought a iphone 3G with 8G last month from Maxis. He find difficulty in using it. Anyone interested to buy from him? What is the price for 2nd hand iphone? My dad is in SS 2 PJ.

find approximately 10-15 maxis bound iPhones with the similar condition as yours from the garage sale section. get the average and that is your price.

Most of them comes from plans, and most of them are 24 month plan, except for Optus 12 months.

Australia don't have those ah beng hand phone shops that sells cheap phones. Before buying, you might want to ask the seller if it's unlockable while within plan.

But basically, if you are not staying here for at least 12 months, it would be hard to get one

friend bought in aussie for 900+ AUS dorrars. he bought from otpus and costed him AUS$50 to unlock before he sent it over for me.

the phone costs arnd rm2.6k, still cheaper than maxis

yes cheaper than maxis except not getting local warranty that's all.. to those who dun mind about warranty, its a bargain

what is unlocking?and what is the benefits of buying unlocking iphone?

apparently '3' australia is gonna be a carrier for the iPhone 3G S well!

hence that will make the total number of carriers in australia to FIVE! (telstra, vodafone, virgin, optus and possibly '3')

I am in the mood today to provide answers to questions like yours so here goes.....

Firstly, how do you know the price of the 3G will come down when the 3GS is launched? Then, if we give you answers which are not what you like to hear, would you accept them? Like for instance, wait to buy the 3GS due to the improved performance, as you may not want to fork out the expected high price of the same. Also, we do know know your needs when it comes to gadgets like this.

So, in other words, it is moot to ask. You, only you can decide your course of action insofar as when or what to purchase. Asking that question is superfluous.
