after read out the info in this thread i still confused ...

i have been told by the seller that my iphone is contract phone aka officially unlocked, is it true? so he told me that i can upgrade directly from itunes whenever necessary

my phone model is MB500ZA so according to the list its considered singapore set, but i find out on'cydia" under 'manage" icon the yellow snow had been installed ....

so is it my phone the official unlock or the software unlock?

TQ inadvance

Since it's a Singtel unit, you can try deleting yellowsn0w and see if your iPhone is truly officially unlock by default. That's the best way to know.

usually if it was official unlocked set there will be no problem whenever you using other sim, and im not sure why the seller installed yellowsn0w on it since its a singapore set, what is you baseband and firmware.? if its basebanse 2.30.03 then the yellowsn0w wont work eventhough the seller install in before selling to you,

anyway try and error will be solution of your "will it be locked if i delete the yellosnow",, try it and feedback us.smile.gif

purchased in asia.

when it comes to warranty, it is determined by place of origin.

@rthj

I called Apple Malaysia and they mentioned that there's no support for AppleCare For iPhone and only certain countries covers AppleCare for iPhone. like US etc.

Please refer to the first thead of this post @ Section 'E' : Additional Tips To Keep In Mind: 2. AppleCare For iPhone

thanks for the responses.

is there a general list of which countries where applecare is available for iphone? does one have to go to individual apple sites to check if this is available?

e.g. iphone purchased in singapore and using it in France. assuming applecare is available in France, is it possible to get it for the iphone?

you are quite stubborn eh? you still insist on it despite being reaffirmed by xaw5126 (who works for an apple premium reseller in malaysia)

No, service for eligible repairs is only available in the country where your iPhone was originally purchased.

There's no Dock for all 3G iPhones. Docks were only available for 2G iPhones.

The Dock connector is the USB cable with the "Dock Connector" pin.
