Whats the difference in getting a Sony flash and getting other brands that's suitable like Sunpak, Minolta, Metz or Sigma?
Can anyone elaborate to me?
I kinda wanted to know
Thanks in advance.

Because Sony flash is cheap and can do wireless.
Minolta is Sony.... technically Minolta flash (3600HS/5600HS) is Sony flash (F36AM/F56AM) |

QUOTE(soulfly @ Dec 16 2008, 08:30 PM) Because Sony flash is cheap and can do wireless. But if i really get a flash, any brand would do right? As long as it can fit my Alpha.Minolta is Sony.... technically Minolta flash (3600HS/5600HS) is Sony flash (F36AM/F56AM) What's the function of wireless anyway? Is it that u can use the flash even without attaching it to the DSLR? |

with flash off-camera(wireless) you can simulate studio lighting like picture. having flash on camera gives you a flat, dull and boring looking pictures (which most photojournalist can't avoid).

I wouldn't go for that flash.... the deal simply sounds too dodgy to be true. If selling on behalf of a friend, how come both models also got?! I will call that a scam....
by the way, ahtsong, I love your shots, especially the one with the lady rowing the boat. Great catch! shootkk, some of your shots have very harsh shadows to it.... may try to soften the shadows next time with umbrellas / reflectors / flash (hey, you got a F58 already right?! congratulations! How is everyone? This thread is really growing. Can't keep track anymore. Looks like I will have to use albnok's method of doing the replies on a notepad and then copy it over in a a reply soon! (btw, nice trick on that one, albert... |
