compare btwn Sony AF DT 16-105mm F3.5-5.6
Vs
Sony AF DT 18-250mm F3.5-6.3

i think the price tag almost the same rite .. around Rm 1600 maybe
beside the range , what abt the sharpness and color or focusing speed ? which one better ?
anyone ?
*
16105 is Sony design. It was supposed to be an updated version of the CZ1680 but Carl Zeiss did not approve the design and forbid Sony from using the T* coating on the lens. Therefore it's sold as a normal lens. This means that this lens is as good as the Carl Zeiss 16-80 but without the Zeiss T* coating.

As for 18250, it's just Tamron design.

so can i say the quality is comparable btwn CZ1680 vs SAL16105??  omg..abit heartpained >.<
btw...just a short survey...how many lenses do u guys usually bring..say for a trip?or normal outting??

i currently hving 50mm prime + cz1680.......might get a SAL70300G as a gift..but nt sure whether i would utiliz all the 3 lenses anot..coz my crumpler bag can only bring 2..lol..don wanna neglect any of my lens sweat.gif

the 1680cz is better than 16105 in terms of contrast (awesome microcontrast from T* coating) and larger aperture. it's also slightly better in terms of corner sharpness. i guess you get what you paid for. i would get the zeiss if i have extra bucks... but for budget conscious people, 16105 is a wiser choice. it has better build quality than the zeiss.

so i guess it means that Lambency is better that Omnibounce right?

btw, i was asking, it's known that 580EX diffuser/bouncer can fit F58, how about F42 ya??
*

F42 can use 430EX/EXII diffuser

i've tried Gary Fong Lightsphere (ori) before on my F42 .... one thing I don't like about it was that it always fell... it fits tight actually, but less grippy. The whaletail (toilet bowl) had better gripping because rubber band is used.

Need opinion here...I have f58....I like to do strob photography n i have 2 umbrella. What do u think

1. Should i buy another flash ....nissin around RM4++ that can be triggered by pop up too.
2. HVL42 ...new one rm7++
3. 300 watt strobe light ....rm600 without battery pack (I have to use plug so not mobile). (not sure can fit into my light stand and silver umbrella) definitely can be triggered with pop up flash/flash.
If you were to get a non-Sony flash, get the cheap one with manual power control, and trigger them via RF triggers. The Nissin works fine, but you will not want to trigger it with the pop-up flash. It just doesn't sync (based on my experience with Di466 for Canon). It flashes, but it doesn't come out in the picture unless you set the pop-up to manual flash. But then, you can't use it together with Sony wireless flash. With RF trigger, you can attach the transmitter to the sync port and use Sony wireless at the same time.

What's great about F42AM is that it's more sensitive to trigger compare to older flash like F36AM or F56AM. I have tried a shot where the flash was not even in the line of sight and it triggers (subject on the stairs, flash on the 1st floor directly above me and I'm shooting from the ground floor)

can elaborate more on the view finder/view mode? i dun get it...

and 1000d has cmos shutter...a200 has ccd shutter...i heard cmos better than ccd?
*

CMOS is only better at high iso handling. CCD will produce crispier images than CMOS at its optimum ISO levels.
Digital medium format camera still use CCD for a reason.

a200/300 has the most useful feature compare to its competitors in the entry level segment.

btw is there any speed limitation or brand preferred for the CF cards???
*
no limit.

if you want cheap but fast writing speed get kingston elite pro (SLC type NAND)
those transcend 133x aren't exactly fast writing... they're using MLC instead of SLC NAND flash. they're cheap though.

Well, if got card reader( i mean good one, not RM10 all-in-one type) then use it, much faster than using cable.
*
cable transfer rate is actually quite fast with the Alphas, but then again it depends on the card speed too. it drains battery though.

ALERT:

You guys must've already seen the cheap F58AM/F42AM ads on FTZ rite? I already asked the ghetto seller about warranty, source, even offered to COD here in Miri... but he seems avoiding my questions and insisted on postage.

There's a very high chance that this guy is a scammer.
