"rapid shot i am not sure.. time lapse normally dun have under compact camera catergory... but if u looking for great wide angle + durable go for olympus, if not u go for sony for compact and style"

In regards to time lapse, isnt there a feature on some cameras to allow for multiple timed shots, say every 15seconds? That way i can just edit it in a video edit software to do time lapse..When you said "but if u looking for great wide angle + durable go for olympus" what models were you talking about? I was looking at the Olympus Pen and even the Panasonic Lumix (although the Lumix lens isnt interchangeable, the wide angle is supposed to be very good) but both are quite out of my range...It was the Olympus Pen that got me wanting a compact with interchangeable lenses but i realize now that its a very specific (not to mention expensive) requirement..

I am doing the same thing as you and if your budget is really RM1500, then you have to consider a high-end point and shoot. Going for DSLR with that budget is a no go as a wide angle lens cost Rm1.5k> excluding the DSLR body itself.
