Mike, i just get my joystick from rawfish friend... hehe.. need to re-train again by stick... tongue.gif

Thanks for your support! Although I'm not earning a single cent at least there's satisfaction providing directions to people who really wish to get that stick at a decent price rather than going through the hassle online. I really didn't expect local retailers and of all people, my own friend (via his company), to bring this in - and at adequate quantities.

Stick is the true way to go. Many advanced techniques can only be better accomplished via the ergonomic aesthetics of a stick, down to the basics of comfortably executing Sonic Booms. Just try whipping out close to 100 in a single round on the DS3's d-pad. Dangerously puts strain on the thumb. Stick movements are conducted by the forearms-wrist, which have better flexibility and endurance.

To those using pads - no offence, to each his/her own.

Most of us here should have SF4 by now, or within the next 2 weeks. I hope crickets won't be chirping in this thread. Btw, in case you don't know the hardcover Collector's Edition of the SF4 Prima Games guide will not go into print, and Play-Asia has delayed the Mad Catz TE to March 2009.

hehehe fruitler , this is expected already 1 mar ....

anyway ... can discuss any SF here as much as u want ... I have no issues ..

but , there is already a SFIV thread so maybe discuss there is more appropriate ??

anyway, looking at the fighter LIST in the other thread never fail to make me goes LOL tongue.gif

the list not consistent at all hahaha ...
*
Yeah, the list is totally haywire. Plus too much trash talk there and even the TS went AWOL. But what I can't stand is the wrong information given there. People just cut and paste stuff there even if incomplete e.g. the unlocking of characters and Focus Attack properties.

I think this place and its contributors are way better in quality!

hey neobita,
which region is your CE? I tried asking on the SF4 thread but no one layan me. I dont know whether to get a CE from region 2 or normal region 3 cos I scared I wanna download the costumes and stuff then lotsa problem.
btw, i'm also a newbie here, daily lose to all the seniors in HD haha.  rclxub.gif
*
Let me help answer, as we both discussed this earlier. Both me and him getting the CE from Play-Asia, R1. Your best bet to get the R2 CE will be the local shops but prepare to pay est. RM400 as what my friend estimated.

Personally, I am not interested in the R2 additional C.Viper figurine, as getting the R1 would mean 1st-hand DLCs (DownLoadable Content e.g. costumes, modes, etc) once it's released over PSN.

Add me in PSN for HDR love biggrin.gif

Mike: I'd suggest a topic: "SF4 Fight Club - No Trash Talk Here" - for matchmaking and game discussion

mikeee, rawfish or anyone who had the taste of sf4, care to share your battle experience with lynners or kuai loy? smile.gif
*
1) LYN matches are ideal - little to no lag, and a variety of characters to fight with - simply FUN, makes you improve your game as well

2) Regional matches - little lag as well, I play ranked matches if only my opponent has 2-3 network bars, as people there fight to win and won't hold back. I'm not afraid of losing even if I used an inexperienced character - only way to learn! Fought some good Asians but none outside the Ryu/Ken/Akuma/Sagat variety. I encountered some good players using dictator, Chun Li and Rufus.

3) Testosterone-fest at a buddy's place - the best, with booze thumbup.gif

Btw, this news may come in late:

I took it right after it arrived. Gonna keep it sealed to retain its value hehe.

Look what I found from the NeoGAF forums, on the standard Mad Catz FightStick:

At 9:03, I quote ".. I've chiseled away.. this is why the shit is bent.. i hammered a stake through this m*****f*cker like it was f**king dracula man, it won't come out.." - I really feel his pain

This is from VideoGameCentral.com:
QUOTE
This is a notification regarding your Pre-order for the:
Madcatz Tournament Edition & Regular Street Fighter 4 Arcade Sticks.

We, as instructed from Madcatz, had pre-ordered SFIV Sticks set to ship from Madcatz on Feb. 17th, 2009

As a valued customer we are sorry to inform you that the Madcatz complete fulfillment ship date has been pushed back as per Madcatz's Official Statement that you can view here: http://videogamecentral.com/Madcatz_..._SF_Sticks.doc

Madcatzʼ verbal explanation for this last minute back pedal of lack of product is as follows:
"Due to the overwhelming last minute demand and a work slowdown due to Chinese New Year, Madcatz has under-produced these items for their initial release shipment. Madcatz will be providing more product to the confirmed pre-books as they become available. "

We empathize with the frustration that this causes with you (as with us) as VideoGameCentral was still getting a confirmed response (from all of our sources) to our pre-books up until a week ago. This past week, our confirmed purchase orders, which we were monitoring daily lost their confirmed status and we were left with only a vague response until we received the info that we are forwarding to you. We assure you this is a universal shortage which most of you probably know already.

We will be filling orders promptly as our sticks arrive. We have many sources also outside Madcatz that are working diligently to obtain higher quantities of these SFIV sticks. We will send out available sticks as they arrive in the order of the pre-books received.

Due to the above-mentioned information, if you would not like to wait, we have provided alternative product choices that make excellent substitutions. Please see below for the links to these great arcade sticks:

XBOX 360 Real Hori Arcade EX Stick (Full Size)
http://store.videogamecentral.com/xb...-joystick.html

PS3 Hori Real Arcade Pro 3 Stick (Full Size)
http://store.videogamecentral.com/ps...-joystick.html

PS3 Hori SC4 Arcade Stick (Smaller)
http://store.videogamecentral.com/ps...ade-stick.html

Exclusive Review of these Products:

If you choose to wait for Madcatz to fill the allocation expected, we will be shipping them continuously according to the orders received from when Madcatz ships them. The estimated dates of fulfillment are expected to be late March & April. Once again, we apologize for the delay and will notify you once your order has shipped.

Thank you for your continued support,

Dominick Scarpitta / President
VideoGameCentral.com

Hence the delay from Play-Asia. Seriously, their factories are in China, why can't they get stock since they're based in Hong Kong? Amazon, GameStop and Best Buy must be really gripping them by the b*lls for first-hand stock.

Gee I feel bad if I'm going off-topic. The console section in this forum should actually be merged since most games are cross-platform. Forces a great divide between PS3 and 360 fans of the same game.

Lucky got mike's permission to talk about other side-related SF stuffs here smile.gif

EDIT: Hey Mike looks like Streamyx was just having a bad evening, other users here and the SF4 thread complaining of terrible lag as well. And I thought my button was spoilt too biggrin.gif

Sorry for the disconnections and slowdown... but the special effects was cool heh heh!! I hope the launch of the R1 yesterday has nothing to do with this... otherwise it's SFHD alone, for multiplay!!!

but was not at full focus... my kid is having flu... had to watch over her and get her to eat the medicine... sad.gif

Hope she gets better. Good initial observation between SFHD and SF4.. during laggy times SFHD performs better than SF4. Both of us had trouble connecting, but when both managed to get in the lobby gameplay was smooth. In SF4 with the same net connection, Mike had between 1/4 bars the framerate was spiking up and down. The effects were different as well. SFHD = 'teleportation' effect, SF4 = "Matrix" effect. Anyone else getting this?

How long does it need to prepare the CE? haish....

thx for the wish...  . seeing that little body with cough and flu brings sadness to my heart... sad.gif
I hope she gets well soon too. smile.gif

It's still being prepared now. Probably to let us know they're expecting stock from the supplier. I really really don't like the idea of doing all the chars unlocking and clearing of all the trials AGAIN. Serves me right for being impatient and getting the R3 first.

We are in the same boat! I had wasted lots of time clearing challenges and would really dread at the prospect replaying some of the hard survival and time attack challenges again. Guess I will only start on CE once my fightstick arrives, hope it will be much easier using it instead of a DS3. I wonder what would happen to the battle points/ online ranking though, whether it would carry over?

Also :
(An interview with producer Yoshinori Ono from a recent Famitsu suggest Dee Jay and T.Hawk have already been developed into to pre-texturing 3D models. For T.Hawk, the developers even went so far as to come up with plans for how the character would fight in SFIV. Said Ono:  "If there's demand from users, we're ready to revive them at any point.")
Source: Andriasang
The introduction of these two characters through DLC will complete the rooster from Super  rclxms.gif . Must go bug them developers.

I do agree that SFHD performs much better during times of lag than SFIV, well at least I still can input commands during teleportation. It takes some adjustments adapting to the timing between the two games. I wonder, the default play speed is 3 for SFHD, if I would to change it to 1 would the timing be less jarring as compared to SFIV, must experiment it tonight tongue.gif .
*
BPs should be carried over, since it's based on your PSN ID and not save game data. Hope the game data is not region-specific hence we can just retain all our unlockables. Or at least have the option to download a 100% file from GameFAQs or something biggrin.gif

Playing on Turbo 3 is ideal.. Turbo 1 too slow. Slows down our reflexes as well. FYI, Jepun play on Turbo 4 hehe.

hehe... mow training my akuma in sf4

anywhere, i have stuck at trial mode...
how to make : strong punch after focus attack... tried many time, but failed to do it....
*
Referring to his first challenge on the hard trial? It's best you get Dan into the corner, then after the fireball quickly FADC but wait till you come out of your dash first before hitting fierce punch xx fierce DP. Importantly, don't rush as the fireball will keep Dan in his stun frames so you can delay the fierce punch. The rest of the 5 trials are easier.

Too bad I can't say the same thing for Viper's cancels. Just like playing piano biggrin.gif

EDIT: R1 CE from PA pushed to 23 Feb. Neobita... I feel for you man.

hey guys thanks for playing with me tonight, connection quite bad but lucky got few games with u guys. now damn jealous cos u all playing sf4  cry.gif  i also dont know when i can get my R1 version of sf4
anyway, any of u guys going to cineleisure tomorrow? i wanna go and just sign up for next week's match and if can, try to play sf4 for the first time there  rclxms.gif

Patience, friend. What's stopping you? If it's a few more days/weeks then it makes a small difference as this game will last for years to come. Unless there's major changes, revisions e.g. Champion Edition / Dash can be settled via DLC download. Same goes for any extra characters as well.

You can sign up online and bank-in to Alan's account without going to Cineleisure.

For me... I found something new for Viper and Bison - stuck in office now and can't wait to get home to boot up Trial and Training mode.

Here's something to cheer you up!

To me, SF4 is an SF game entirely on its own and at this point I could not pinpoint its closest counterpart.

I notice people play footsies more with this one and take advantage of the Focus Attacks / Cancels a lot. 3S bases on the luck factor due to its parrying system, making it quite random at times. People are not afraid of jump-ins but they should be, in SF4.

And the thing I dislike about 3S is its tight execution where technical characters like Yun and Makoto have high tier rankings due to their favourable gimmicks e.g. Genei-Jin, grab mix-ups, stun games. This may turn off many people especially those still on the learning curve. I can't believe I've been playing it for years too, but SFHD got me sucked-in to what SF is, and SHOULD ever be - a simple game for everyone, and can be technical if needed without it being a necessity bruce.gif

But Viper really feels like she belongs to another game.

While you are there, do check out his other well written blogs and videos of some of the top Singapore SFIV players.

Thanks for sharing that! I was in the same boat as that guy. In a way I regretted cancelling 2 of my sticks from Amazon as I would've gotten them by now (someone here offered to tumpang it back). My bad call in judgment for assuming PA would have equivalent speed in securing stock, due to their US$20 price hike-up and closer location to the factories.

Viper is not cheap... she is EXPENSIVE! That's cause I spent so many times in Trial mode just to cancel her moves to Ultra. Still cannot get sad.gif

Viper feels like she's from another game ... KOF! And she got the best overhead (f+mp) in the game

Strangely I feel very comfortable with him as I played Yun too in 3rd Strike... and since SF4's story takes place before SF3, perhaps he's Yun/Yang's sifu? Well, to repay for his knowledge they probably had to treat him with a few McD burgers biggrin.gif

Hey anyone needs help with the Challenge Mode Trial? I finally completed HARD mode, last one being Viper's! 1.5hrs just for the final one... adui I need to rest my hands now.
