Celcom technician called me yesterday and spoke to me politely that I've exceeded the usage of 5GB. Though I've known earlier but I acted as if I don't know. laugh.gif

Since I just bought a new netbook and I'm now utilising the campus free WiFi. The signal received is not full bars, with only good reception. sad.gif

sweat.gif thats kinda my average speed 1 month ago..I hope ur connection will get better. Have u ever tried to do speedtest during really off peak hour? Then u might know whether it's congestion issue..most probably.

1. wat is the meaning of "capped" ?
the speed will be cut down to a very slow one

2. any max limit usage for D68/D98 package?(5GB usage?)
5GB is the monthly data quota. Once you reach 5GB, the speed will be capped. Applies for both packages. But you still can use the broadband till they give you the speed back on your next billing cycle.

3. which package is recommanded?
Take D68 for starter, or you can try daily unlimited for testing.

4. can connected by any 3g phone? eg nokia n70, se k810i etc.
Yes, but once you register, make sure you call celcom for a setting. I recommend you to use standalone modem.

thanks.

so did u tell them tat Celcom should advertise tat D68 is 64 kbps and D98 is actually 128kbps connnection.
Wat the hell they advertise its 384 kbps and 3.6Mbps connection , rite

now any tom,ali and harry surely utilise more than 5GB of bandwidth when they use mobile bb, cause its mobile meaning we can use it on-the-go and we will use up the allocated BW much faster

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. rclxm9.gif
why standalone modem is recommanded? in terms of connection speed and stability?
which model of modem that can support celcom 3g?
what is indoor/outdoor coverage? becoz i found that most of coverage area is outdoor as listed by celcom.

thanks notworthy.gif

May i answer some of your questions there smile.gif

Why standalone modem?
The modem will generates heat when you use it. More heat emitted especially when you're downloading stuff nod.gif
If you're using your mobile phone as modem, the heat produced due to continuous usage as modem might shorten your mobile phone lifespan sweat.gif

Usually, all modem sell in our country can be used with celcom3g, maxis, etc.. since there're all unlocked.
There's no use of selling modem which cannot be used in our country tongue.gif
If you wish to buy a modem, you can buy it from Garage Sales. Many forumer selling it with reasonable price biggrin.gif

Someone correct me if i'm wrong notworthy.gif

Did you get that speed during peak hours? hmm.gif
Have you try to connect during non peak hours? If you can get good speed at that time, then it was probably because of network congestion smile.gif
If you sure that the problem is on their side (Celcom) and not because of network congestion in your area, go ahead and complain nod.gif

Ek, what do you mean? blink.gif You pay RM98 when registering for D98? Isn't that normal?
If you mean that, RM98 + activation fee, i'm not sure about that, since i'm a D68 user sweat.gif
Sorry if i misunderstood your question there notworthy.gif

RM98 actually will be waived into ur account. So, basically, 1st month don't have to pay anything. Somebody please correct me if i'm wrong on this one.

sweat.gif Of course you need to pay for registration, else how is your line gonna get activated? doh.gif Nothing is free. smile.gif Yes, for D98 needs to pay RM 98 and D68 needs to pay RM 68. You do not need to pay for anything for the first bill as you have made your payment during registration.

QUOTE
Celcom does not charge any installation or registration fee; however you are required to pay an advance payment upon your registration. Following are the payment schedules:

The advance payments will be reflected in your first bill as an advance payment towards your package value.

But he say D68 is free.. No need to pay doh.gif
