Nothing on the fate of your amp?
I feel there is still 'life' with your amp.. just don't do anything 'stupid' in desperation k..

Hope so. But, arjen said my chip most probably fried.. shakehead.gif

For another topic, most young man are always issued in desperation and impatient... i am one of them and i ever tend to cure myself always but end up the fail rate in controlling myself is more than 90%... icon_question.gif

I'm kinda surprised that speaker output shortage will lead to chip outage.. (can't help it, it rhymes!) tongue.gif
The built-in protection should kick in to protect.. looks like it did but did not do it's job? hmm.gif
Looks like part of your angpow money is going to arjen/xtorm laugh.gif

Can you get the chip locally? It's not hard to swap the old chip with a new one.

That is too easy to die. Could it be something else you done?

Price is one thing. To desolder the old chip and solder back the new one going to be deficult. Good luck.

Yesterday night manage to fix it to a casing.
Couldn't resist to change the 470uF power supply cap and add an input MKP.
Not much time to listen but frist impression is noisy (I think because I use an AC trans). Sound pressure is higher. Wait until I am back from hometown to review more.

Thanks for the update kww, and the pics too!
Wish it is more clearer.. tongue.gif

This is where my TA-2020 live..
In the same housing that was earlier occupied by the 'old tenant' TA-2024..
The board next to the T-Amp is the speaker relay board which will connect the speakers after about 5 seconds upon power up.
There was this minor 'thumping' issues with the TA2024 and this resolved the issue. I hate the noise! laugh.gif
Anyway, I still misses the TA2024 sound, might get a new housing for the TA2020 though.. for the time being, this is it.

xtorm,
Tentatively tuesday(the supposedly TT session). Your dad's preamp? hmm.gif will look forward to that! tongue.gif

wui,
I remembered that black casing! As long as it serves the purpose! laugh.gif I recycled mine.. although acrylic is quite tempting... but saving the acrylic for another project... wink.gif
