haha, i'm busying at uni nowadays. Now using Tannoy speakers, got it 2nd hand from a forumer. Bedroom space is limited, cant do much on audio.

yes i use T-amp, tannoy mercury if not mistaken. bookshelf spekers. now still looking for suitable speaker stand, previously put on bookshelves lol

im out of town at the date, guess i miss gathering again...pls take photos to share afterwards ;(

I got my TA2020 singing now. million thanks to Xtorm

initial impression: not much different compared to my TA2024, not day and night difference.

If running 80% volume, it will clip at some music passages.
It might due to my power supply,using the same EI tranny setup as in my TA2024 (swap the amp circuit only)

Give it run in for sometime and 'see' how it goes.

BF862 preamp so expensive? what boutigue parts u use?

found some steel casing (rack style) at JP yest, but kinda pricey, more than 100 bucks.

thinking of get one casing and make an integrated amp, TA2020 will be the power amp. not yet decide on the preamp and power supply cct.

btw, i'm using DC ~14V regulated and EI tranny

i'm not sure about the current rating of my psu, need to check with the tranny rating. but i guess is around 1~1.5A given the size of the tranny.

i cant play too loud else clipping/distortion, maybe due to insufficient current. make me think of investing on a Meanwell smps.

haha i think i got enough bass using the current EI.
just played a Tina Turner album, the bass is powerfull yet solid
