Ya the kit at Nixie is over over price.
JP got few shops sell toroid, but more than 100 bucks if not mistaken. The rating might not suit our requirement also. |

QUOTE(jazzy939 @ Nov 2 2010, 09:14 PM) That would be the best. Really??? I gotta try later Either use the 7812 regulator or the 317(adjustable). I found 13.6VDC a 'sweet spot' in my setup. Bum LM317 can supply 1.5A peak current only. Does T-amp drive more than that during loud passage? Would a super regulator improves T-amp to next level? Btw, both my T-amp also unmodded, except i change the coupling caps. |

I have never made any attempts to measure the current drain/consumption of the T-Amp esp. during peak music level as at 4.2A I did not detect any 'clipping', so I assumed the current is more than sufficient.
I'd say 2A would be more than enough... +2A for additional 'headroom' in my case |

There is a higher current version of 7812, try search for 78S12, can supply up to 2A but double the price.

Any of your sifu or T-amp fans bought any pre assembled T-amp board from Ebay before? Looks like quite cheap over there.
As I know custom malaysia will impose tax on the amp with casing but not the pcb board and electronic parts. The casing we know can improvise. |
