Last I saw part of the TA2020 kit is RM199!

Thank Jazzy
I think I will go JP get a toroid, IF the price is right.

Ya the kit at Nixie is over over price.

JP got few shops sell toroid, but more than 100 bucks if not mistaken.
The rating might not suit our requirement also.

That would be the best.
Either use the 7812 regulator or the 317(adjustable).
I found 13.6VDC a 'sweet spot' in my setup.

Really??? I gotta try later smile.gif
Bum LM317 can supply 1.5A peak current only. Does T-amp drive more than that during loud passage?

Would a super regulator improves T-amp to next level?

Btw, both my T-amp also unmodded, except i change the coupling caps.

I have never made any attempts to measure the current drain/consumption of the T-Amp esp. during peak music level as at 4.2A I did not detect any 'clipping', so I assumed the current is more than sufficient.
I'd say 2A would be more than enough... +2A for additional 'headroom' in my case wink.gif

There is a higher current version of 7812, try search for 78S12, can supply up to 2A but double the price.

Any of your sifu or T-amp fans bought any pre assembled T-amp board from Ebay before? Looks like quite cheap over there.
As I know custom malaysia will impose tax on the amp with casing but not the pcb board and electronic parts.
The casing we know can improvise.
