I believe AA would be pravatalised and the Arabs  ( like the case of Maxis ) would have a substantial stage.

What is the fair price ( a token )  to take private , I would not know. Just guessing.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Recently Arabs also kena teruk... they also have to think twice before buying company. But if the price fall and they 'chap' Air Asia cheap, that's not fair for us cry.gif

Maxis & Air Asia might have similarity on strong cash flow, but Maxis don't have that much debt, nor the future capital commitment sad.gif

DJ rally for 5 days... makes me worry when it will down, gonna hit hard...

Regarding dividend, hv a question...
if it mentioned single tier exempt dividend of 5% per ordinary share of RM0.10 each
how much dividend will it be for 1000 share?

Thanks

Sorry to gatecrash but i really wonder what do you guys think of DJIA's performance for the short term. Best rally since the depression, hence there's not enough data to 'predict' what happens next. The article on CNBC.com (iirc) suggested that while 4-5 days rallies are mostly good sign, rallies of 1x% magnitute however don't always guarantee a good follow through...

I would not buy AA.

But my friend,  HTT is a long term investor in AA.

So just supply some of the possible solutions. hmm.gif

P/S: rumour that AA is connected to some tele boss.

I don't think anybody can actually answer that question. Some articles say that this is a good time to buy stocks but the possibility of the market dropping further cannot be ruled out. I think most people think that the bear market will be here for quite some time, before global economy recovers......

Would like to but afraid it won't rebound, then get stuck with the stocks..... not really good as panasonic88 pointed out that they don't give dividends!!! rclxub.gif

As tempting as it may be, I've made up my mind not to buy AirAsia..... smile.gif

Before buying any counter better take a look at the past EPS , DPS , balance sheet ... at least have some idea how these companies are doing....

Unless you are a experience day trader which is concernng on the intraday momentum / price movement.

Whereas, if you don do any research on the counter and you don have any trading skills... you are merely gambling. For example if you trade 10 times....5 gain 5 lose.....Only the remisier is making money by earnings all the brokerage fees....

I remember researching about IOI and Asiatic. Since last time, whatever the CPO price, IOI is generally priced higher than Asiatic. But this year it's backwards mostly due to IOI's bad investments and problems while Asiatic is a "no news means good news" counter.

One funny thing about the forumers is they expect only their shares like YTL Power to go up, but other stocks to drop like stones. biggrin.gif

Correct me if I am wrong.

A better way to invest in Plantation Stocks is to follow the old uncle way of investing. Just buy at your price and becomes forgetful of what you bought for the next 3 to 5 years.

Do not need to check the weather reports ( flooding, half the Indo sinks and so on ) on daily basis. cool2.gif

True, but for IOICORP, it's price is 150% compared to a month ago, shoot up from around RM2 to RM3 ady..... that's why I'm hoping it might drop a bit first before I get it....

You guys think IOICORP at RM3 is still a good buy? Or is there are stocks that are better? hmm.gif

who knows plantation may be the way forward, if i am wrong well some ppl here r gonna lose money...

the weather effect of CPO fruits is unique becoz too much water this fruits yield lower CPO. traditionally this is the moonsoon season, remember the Johor Floodin last yr, CPO sky rocket becoz of this.

probably is too much news to digest, well ur choice..

I think one of the major issues is that there's currently lots of CPO stock that has no buyers - they need to clear that first.

CPO price might rallly in the near future because of weather issue. The flooding may be a correcting force for those excessive stockpile of CPO, which serve as CPO price support. After all, there are too much stockpile in CPO currently. So the flooding might not totally bad as well for CPO, depends on the area of crop of respective company.

But do remember, those taiko in plantation are already venture into other area like Indonesia, East Malaysia etc for their landbank as well which is quite substantial.
