Have you guys read this? http://whereiszemoola.blogspot.com/

Read the Friday and Saturday postings on AirAsia.

After reading that, I'm not sure I want to buy AirAsia for long term, having a debt of 6.3 billion!!! rclxub.gif

AirAsia's stock price would probably drop come Monday. What do you guys think? Play this stock? Grab when low and cabut when rally? biggrin.gif

Actually debt was long known, but the exceptional loss make the gearing even more shaky than it should be. Think they should actually call for capital, if they have the money to take that private. Think I should average down if kena hammer really hard.

with such a massive 6.3b debt, I wonder what is the effect towards the emotion of the major shareholders like Tony Fernandez?
As a public limited company, if company goes down, their shares as well as personal assets have to go and repay that debt isn't it? hmm.gif Big pressure...

Aikes! Then I will not touch this counter..... no point waiting for it to go up, as other counters will go up and still give dividends!

not suprise if Airasia even goes bellyside up thats the risk of going for shares like AirAsia ...

potentially the risk is higher for airliners like the reasons i said earlier so proceed with ur own risk ...

just compare Airasia with the penny stocks u see out there ... even some penny stocks in temrs of risk is not as risky as airasia.. or those with the same value like Airasia..

than again the potential gain is ... significant especially rumours of privatisation though now cannot hear any ...

but its still a real possibility.

if it does go private than might want to jump to Mas

Think Air Asia spread themselves too wide too thin, after tune air want go tune hotel, later go tune money, if they successful in all think later they are going to tune water, tune oil or tune the country tongue.gif The aggressive style of expansion is really admirable, but I think they need to come to to their basic, forget about other tunes now. Boost up the capital, reduce the gearing (lucky the debt is long term, still not that much pressure, but if they don't improve their gearing while they can, think new credit might just dry up), after all they still have strong cash flow and business model to fall back to.

Also Thai & Indo expansion doing them no favor, Thai unrest just hit them as hard (when they are about to turnaround, then unrest start... blink.gif really suei company tongue.gif ), indo forever losing money (about to turnaround hit by Lehman Bros... haha... tongue.gif ).

Hopefully they no need to go tapao, as we can see improvement of MAS after AA surge, if they fail, then my share might just be a token for a more competitive air traffic in Malaysia. Anyway, hope they won't let us down... rclxms.gif

Just my 2 cents.

Be happy, US also can up for 5 days without much reason biggrin.gif

I believe AA would be pravatalised and the Arabs ( like the case of Maxis ) would have a substantial stage.

What is the fair price ( a token ) to take private , I would not know. Just guessing.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Not gonna touch AAsia either
DJ rally for 5 days... makes me worry when it will down, gonna hit hard...

Regarding dividend, hv a question...
if it mentioned single tier exempt dividend of 5% per ordinary share of RM0.10 each
how much dividend will it be for 1000 share?

Thanks

I would not buy AA.

But my friend, HTT is a long term investor in AA.

So just supply some of the possible solutions. hmm.gif

P/S: rumour that AA is connected to some tele boss.
