Thanks for the FPS rates Presto -- if someone has windows xp sp3 I'll like to know the performance they are getting with some current games out in the market.
I believe using vista or xp can make a big difference in gaming performance. If you're using vista, more then 2 gb of ram might be helpful.

I believe using vista or xp can make a big difference in gaming performance. If you're using vista, more then 2 gb of ram might be helpful. I believe XP will have slight performance boost. maybe 1-2FPS. 2GB ram is sufficient enough for vista x86. u see most benchmarks in www.tomshardware.com and anandtech.com, they use 2GB on their test systems. Anyway, If i have time, will test it out with XP SP3. QUOTE So, the Macbook 2.4Ghz still under performance compare to Macbook Pro(8600M GT) It's very hard for a "low-end GPU" to beat a "mid-range" GPU at performance.... unless maybe comparing 9400M with 6xxx series. Its different for other notebook. other notebook's exterior material doesn't conduct heat. Aluminium macs rely on their body to disperse heat. the entire aluminium body is a heatsink practically. Dats how apple make their notebooks thinner and slicker than other companies, "We put in 1 cheap fan, and use the body instead". N ppl think that full alu body = "yeng". It's best to use the Alu MB & MBP under air cond environment. This post has been edited by presto86: Dec 26 2008, 01:43 AM

You cannot deny the fact that Apple made the laptops with the word "yeng" in mind (well ok maybe they would have "stylish" instead of "yeng"). The whole point of it being thin and what not still leads to the factor of it being "yeng".
