Hi all, anyone tried Left 4 Dead? How many FPS?

BTW, are you all running XP or Vista? I heard you'll get a few extra FPS on XP, but would a future nvidia driver update make the frame rates negligible on vista? I would rather stick with Vista because of Direct X 10 support.

I'm planning to get the Macbook alu 2.0 ghz in a month or two.

All I need is my CS + Team Fortress 2 + Left 4 Dead fix and I'll be okay.

Heard Diablo & Starcraft can run on lower spec machines as well so hopefully they'll be okay on the mb.

Thanks for wasting 5 mins of my time, checking out your link and actually following it to the nVidia download page. Do you find doing this kinda thing amusing?

For those who have yet to do so - don't bother. It just links to the Windows/Linux drivers.

Mac drivers,  as its always been in the past, are issued as software updates from Apple.

MacDaNife -- This is a gaming thread you idiot. Most gamers play in windows, hence, the link is applicable. And yes, I do these things to see which incompetent fool replies; I congratulate you, you've just joined my growing list of morons on Low Yat Network and have been placed on my ignore list. I also present you with a Darwin award i.e. if you were wiped off the planet of this earth, noone would even notice.

Have a nice day!

Of course, that choice is yours.

fight between Macdanife and Omniatlas

lol more like Macdanife trying to strife up the boards because he has nothing better to do. If you check out his posts he is really emo, I'm actually quite concerned blink.gif

Back to the topic at hand -- thanks for sharing the info -- I'll be getting my macbook soon; will stick XP on it -- I don't think 4 gbs makes much of a difference from 2? The shops are charging something like 300 RM from an extra 2 GB -- real rip off IMHO and I would rather go by a third party ram company if I were to upgrade.

Thanks for the FPS rates Presto -- if someone has windows xp sp3 I'll like to know the performance they are getting with some current games out in the market.

I believe using vista or xp can make a big difference in gaming performance. If you're using vista, more then 2 gb of ram might be helpful.
