Currently testing Macbook 2.4Ghz - Aluminium (9400M),

Crysis - Low Detail, may lag even at DX9 (anyway... at low detail, u must as well play FarCry 1) 15FPS max
Crysis Warhead v1.1 (Couldn't install[keep getting error, Crysis doesn't support integrated] - Original one of coz)
COD4 - Mixture of high & medium (No AA) 35FPS max
Need for Speed Pro Street - Have to turn off the smoke and AA 30FPS max
Need for Speed Undercover - The only thing nice about the graphics is Maggie Q in the video clips, EA's fault. Not the MB.
Prince of Persia 2008 - Medium settings 28FPS max
Tomb Raider Legend - Full Detail 42FPS max
Tomb Raider Anniversary - Medium & High (No AA) 23FPS max
Tomb Raider Underworld - Couldn't make it even with medium graphics 18FPS max @ Medium
Far Cry 2 - Holy Shit, africa doesn't have trees and grass (low & medium detail) 17FPS max

If you are thinking of gaming with those Games i listed above. Please consider getting a desktop PC with a C2D 2.33ghz above & a decent 9600GT GPU or higher or get a Macbook Pro.

No point playing a game with low setting. You can't even enjoy what the game has to offer.

All the Framerates, i got it from using Fraps on Vista x86 Home Premium w/SP1. Vista is tweaked for performance and minimum RAM usage.

Thanks for the FPS rates Presto -- if someone has windows xp sp3 I'll like to know the performance they are getting with some current games out in the market.

I believe using vista or xp can make a big difference in gaming performance. If you're using vista, more then 2 gb of ram might be helpful.
*
I believe XP will have slight performance boost. maybe 1-2FPS. 2GB ram is sufficient enough for vista x86. u see most benchmarks in www.tomshardware.com and anandtech.com, they use 2GB on their test systems.

Anyway, If i have time, will test it out with XP SP3.

So, the Macbook 2.4Ghz still under performance compare to Macbook Pro(8600M GT)

It's very hard for a "low-end GPU" to beat a "mid-range" GPU at performance.... unless maybe comparing 9400M with 6xxx series.

Normally if plays gaming even using normal laptop also will going heat coz it utilies all the system both processor and graphics chipset which share on same thermalpad...so the heat generate need used notebook cooler..

Its different for other notebook. other notebook's exterior material doesn't conduct heat. Aluminium macs rely on their body to disperse heat. the entire aluminium body is a heatsink practically. Dats how apple make their notebooks thinner and slicker than other companies, "We put in 1 cheap fan, and use the body instead". N ppl think that full alu body = "yeng". It's best to use the Alu MB & MBP under air cond environment.
