Yep!

Was playing Quake 4 (Mac) on my 9600 just now. I know it's an old game, but it's my first time playing any game smoothly at native 1440 x 900 resolution haha! High quality summore (Ultra quality need 512 MB VRAM...i only have 256 so it wont let me)~

Also tested out a little video conversion. 9400 & 9600 got around the same time. but its just around 8 short videos though, not exactly a thorough test mind you ;p

cider is similar to crossover.they are both meant to play Windows games on Mac.

Crossover is limited to less games than cider i think. I have crossover but not used at all (No games tongue.gif)

FYI;Crossover method for L4D is only through Steam at the moment, Not sure about cider but kalosneri seem to be able run it tongue.gif

kalosneri, how much did u pay for cider?

ah that's even better. i have not heard of this cider and crossover before so thanks for the heads up!

now all i need to do is to purchase crossover and the L4D cd.

definitely a relief knowing now i do not have to install windows os on my mb just for L4D.

As i mentioned above,

As far as L4D is concerned, Crossover uses Steam account so you will need to purchase via Steam and not a physical disc.
On the bright side, most games there are cheap. Especially the bundles (TF2 FTW) smile.gif

Check out the other games supported by crossover

sorry for the late reply, previously i installed the L4D game but don't have time to test it. I downloaded the game from internet, not purchased it. if you want to know which website to download, pm me, but to download the file u need to have rapidshare premium.

L4D runs smoothly in my 2.8GHz MBP.

FOR my case, I need an active cooling pad whenever I game. Otherwise, my MBP will hit black screen of death.

don buy the zalman.. not suitable for mbp....
i'm using zalman 1000, mbp gpu is on the upper left but unfortunately the zalman cooling pad only able to hit the mbp front part, so no use and not worth it. U will easily get black screen of death!!
the only good side of zalman is, it run quietly.. u not even noe it is running!!

try consider other cooling pad, or u can try what i do now, jz buy a cheap usb stand fan tat cost about 20 bucks and use it when gaming by pointing the fan to left part of mbp near the upper left keyboard. Do bear in mind the stand fan is strong but it is very loud. So, i only use it when i'm gaming. Good side, u wont feel the keyboard is hot anymore smile.gif

If u guys wanna try black screen of death, jz try boot up windows and quickly launch any gpu intensive game such as farcry 2 , crysis... then u will noe smile.gif
the temp for gpu goes up too fast, and the fan speed is unable to catch up so u will get what u wan.. lol...

what i do is, booting up windows and leave in about 15 min b4 start gaming...
