guyz , to you all think the macbook pro 17" worth to buy now ?
or they will update the 17" soon ? . When I saw this WWDC 09 , I think the macbook pro 17" is not update yet

It's worth because:

1. the new price for 17 inch entry level.

2. capable to support 8Gb RAM.

3. new SD card slot

4. better display (60% improve color gamut).

are u talking about 15" ?

the new 15" yeah .. I know is worth .. but the 17" only drop price and processor unit upgrade only ..
still using the old express card

I would say it depends on your need.. if you think that you need a new laptop right now then it is worth to every cents spent..
Apple would most probably update the laptop line this october (as usual), before that, what you can see most probably will only be some speed bumps..

i was wondering can we go buy mac with education discount in their retail store or the payment has to be done in their online store?
if yes....do we need to give any identification to proof im a student? ....student card? has anyone got their mac/apple stuff by using their student discount??

until today, no news on freebies for the New 2009 MBP(from the website)
coz I stay in Ipoh, as here do not hav an apple reseller
mayb u can check the reseller store in KL for better info
but according to Maccity and Machines website
freebies only applicable to the previous gen Macbook, macbook pro and air n mac desktops

A new 10" touchscreen Mac is juz around the corner
coz Apple already ordered the 10" touchscreen a few months ago
nw they put the UMB 13 as MBP 13
n left the around 3 years old MB
iz it quite obvious they will launch something new anytime soon

Speed bump might be around late tis year, juz a few weeks before Christmas (normally)

dude get ur facts right the first MB was launched on May 16, 2006. its just 3 years and 1 month old how is it 5 years?

but the goodies is not as great compared to Machines and Maccity
they only give a kewboard protector n 20% off for casing

MBP 15 and 17
guess wat, u will ONLY get 20% off for casing...

at least they are giving something at the moment, i called up Machines yesterday and there's no freebies at the moment.. only the 2% rebate..

Apple online store in Sg is having discount on some of their accessories.

do malaysia apple online store sell any refurbish mac?

here in Malaysia its only Machines who are authorized to do that.

wow...the 13 uMB seem delicious....which would you choose ?
uMB 3499 and uMBP 4099... 0.26ghz diff, screen, name, battery diff! the rest is the same!? damn it! does this worth 400bucks xtra to an upgrade version or uMBP? yes...i think it worth!

plus SD slot, and 8GB upgrade of ram is possible.

but also they took out 1 audio jack port!...
damn! the retail stores in UAE are suckz...speed slow,no display model no nothing...they dont even have online store!!! cant wait to go back and get 1 for myself!!! seriously...msia is selling rubish price for all quality mac! cant get anymore cheaper other thn msia!
