You can ask corez, he's the first person in this forum as far as i can see who ordered it from Amazon US 3 days ago. He'll be able to answer your question as soon as he got it.

2.5" should be ok... WD passport same as other portable HDD too, just need a single USB to power. If not enough, they have the 2nd usb connector for you to power up the 2.5" HDD too...
3.5" for sure need external power...

i'm eyeing on hd media player (for h264 playback) long time ago already namely sarotech & dvico brands; unfortunately they are unaffordable to me... with this hd player @ rm400++ (minus all bell-and-whistle that are not so crucial to me), the price is unbeatable thumbup.gif

among them is network support and internal HDD
so u can take contents directly from your PC or NAS without having to constantly transfer your external hdds

Man...should have got myself a Full HD plasma sad.gif

Anyway...I read through the Madhat review....what does the guy mean by:

"Next, I tried a 1080p x264 file, also in an MKV container, this time with DTS audio. The video bitrate was around 15mbps, and I honestly expected many dropped frames. However, I was proven wrong, as the file played back with no issues at all.

Then he said

I tried playing an MKV file containing MPEG2 video and AC3 audio, and it did not play. While that’s not a traditional container for those codecs, it still should have played."

Can someone enlighten me...AI'm still new to this HD stuff..

Probably it can only handle x264 codec in mkv files instead of others..so far from what I see the in forum, some people been complaining that it couldn't play certain anime encodes, considering that fansubs don't have specific standards for video encodes unlike scene groups..
