QUOTE(waeguk @ Dec 12 2008, 07:58 AM) Maybe lower than that, since rm399 is retail. Nice ! i hv this WD My book home Ed. 1TB, it is formated in FAT32, so any files size bigger than 4GB u will not be able to transfer, however u can format it to NTFS on the fly, go google it, i don hv the link with me now. U hv to perform it under MS-DOS environment. i bought for only RM510 Maybe can get 2nd unit. Thinking of getting WD Mybook 1TB, anyone uses this before? Need to format or partition before use? |

QUOTE(htkaki @ Dec 15 2008, 09:27 AM) The thing is when i plug in my WD My book, the USB symbol in front of the WDTV doesnt light up at all, no matter how i unplug the USB cable, off the HD also the same, but when i plug in USB thumbdrive, it will be ok and i can see the HD scanning status on the menu...is it bcoz my WD My book is formatted in NTFS??ic, so i need to set to digital, stereo is for RCA connection then. i think even for AC3 sound, i experience no sound also.. One more thing..i using the HDMI cable that connect to my PS3, when connect to my WDTV, my LCD TV said "Mode not Supported", but when i plug another HDMI cable from my DVD player, it is ok...strange.. Added on December 15, 2008, 9:51 am QUOTE(viruz @ Dec 15 2008, 09:44 AM) Hmm....is this player able to support chinese subtitles? no lag at all, but when u fast forward it more than x18, u might experience some hang...BTW, when playing HD content do you guys see lag like what happened on most PC system during HD playback? embedded sub on mkv can be display, separate sub file for mkv hvnt try yet This post has been edited by JayC75: Dec 15 2008, 09:51 AM |

QUOTE(laowai @ Dec 15 2008, 11:45 AM) Switch off your Media library feature in WDTV. after google around, i also suspect is the Media Library feature causing my problem, will try again tonite. I assume your Mybook works when connecting to pc? If so, USb connection is working ok. Nothing to do with FAT/NTFS. So far, you are only person whose harddisk cannot work. Even usb hub also works. Yes, when connect to PC work. Also quite disappointed that u need an AVR in order to hear DTS and DD, as i don hv an AVR, which mean most of my mkv movies play with no sound. since i bought this unit for my bro and he has an AVR, so not an issue for me, but if u wan to move around this unit, then u will hv problem play mkv with sound (DTS & DD). |

stereo is only for RCA connection lah.
There is a solution to this which i read from other forum, i.e. convert those DTS movie to m2ts format, or use Popcorn MKV audio convert. |

QUOTE(DigitalKL @ Dec 15 2008, 08:15 PM) your blog USD55.RM55 or USD$55? where can i get one? Just picked up my 400gb today. For those that cannot tahan wait till end of the month - can try APAQ. I think they still have stock I saw AllIT Hyper selling for RM469 or 479 RM479? then the price i bought is really good lo at RM399. A New firmware is expected before end of the yr... Back to my WD My book 1TB External HD, still cant detected after i set Media Library off. Have a search at WD Knowledge Base, probably i need to proper dismount My Book then only can detect, will try again tonite...sian... For sound issue, after convert to m2ts format, i can play movie with sound again but u hv to set the sound out as Stereo, not Digital. |

QUOTE(SynHeng @ Dec 16 2008, 09:43 AM) yes, it can play m2ts, but not ts. which mean u can solve any mkv file with DTS sound on u LCD TV without receiver. But remember to set sound output at Stereo.Looking forward to new firmware this month. |

QUOTE(htkaki @ Dec 17 2008, 10:44 PM) Strange.... I am using WD HDD too. No issue at all. So flawless as to date (touch wood). Next, going to get 1TB HDD. what is ur WD HD size at the moment? less than 500G size probably very fast. Last nite i try plug in my 1TB My Book again, and it takes more than 5min to get it detected, and yes i already turn of the Media Library option. |
