Hi, thanks for the reply. I searched before the item will be charged for gst only but I read some forumer review said it depends on luck.. just wanna db confirm before I place any order. So you have any experience before bought apparel or shoes from overseas that no extra tax or handling fee will be imposed if the value below RM500?

Hi guys , I bought a bluetooth headphone which is ATH-WS660BT from ebay which shipped from Japan , I checked http://tariff.customs.gov.my/ and it says NIL mean I only need pay 6% GST right? For GST how do I pay online or only can go to nearest KASTAM office to pay? Besides , does headphone need something like sirim permit? This is my first oversea purchase feel like damn worry now.. mega_shok.gif

no more import duties 10%...replace by 6% GST
*
so does companies that import to resell, they have to pay 2 times the 6% and incurred double taxation?

Import tax will be imposed if the value exceeds RM500, and how does gst work? Do you have any prove to back up this claim?
*
let's say product invoice RM400, freight/shipping cost RM200.

Is it taxable?

As far as I know shipping cost will be calculated, they will use the total cost(product cost + shipping) as the final price of whether the package will be taxed or not.

if that is true, isn't that wrong accounting? how can one be taxed more if it shipped far away?

let's say you import to sell, and your company get tax another round again on income tax.

I'm not sure what you mean by company being taxed another round, all the custom taxes that I paid so far were for personal use, I only know custom here will use the final price(product price+shipping) as reference for taxing purpose.

Trying to import Jarvis fully standing Desk frame only
https://www.fully.com/jarvis-frame-only.html
USD385.
What is the tax? Does it require sirim / suruhanjaya tenaga?
I called the Kelana Jaya Kastam and apparently they don't need any certification. Just declare as 9403909000 "other furniture". Can anyone confirm or deny this? Thanks
