Spectre suck donkey balls. It's very sloppily put together...either Mendes and Graig wanted to get out of their contract binding or a victim of the infamous Tom Rothman meddling. Biggest gripe of all the tone is all over the places...it can't decide whether to continue the gritty version from Casino Royale or fall back to the cheesy Roger Moore era of 007.  Just scene after scene of exotic location with very uninteresting things in it. Convenient props or events will appear out of thin air to save 007 out of any situation he's in. The dialogue is quite horrid and really can't help but felt like watching a headless chicken routine. Gone are the grounded framework they established from the last few movies.

Damn this summary makes me feel like i've already watched the movie - should i even venture and try this out? Really hated Skyfall...

Further proof that it is no longer possible to produce a Bond feature of 'Casino Royale' caliber - lets review the highlights:
- filmnoirish opening in black n white -oooh something new in a bond movie
- INSANE parkour chase - my word, my palms sweat EVERY time i rewatch it on bluray on HT..
- locating the baddie in a resort - so entertaining!
- vesper n bond first meet up - witty conversation - opposed to each other but obviously attracted - reveals character personalities.
- high stakes card game that should be boring but isn't
- male bonding between captor and victim
- surprise rescue
- femme fatale surprise
- a mystery revealed to tantalize

So, is there anything in Spectre that could match or excel any of the above? So far, i've heard things are amped to the max with no rhyme or reason...

I'd give an 7/10 for Spectre. The remaining 2 is because, the action isn't as good as Skyfall and the villain seems a bit "weak".

Still a good movie, but not as good as Skyfall.

But then, i'm not a good movie critic so.. tongue.gif

I agree with you. The old JB is all about cheesiness, cool gadget and great villain. But this Bond falls short the latter two. The only gadget he had is the watch right?

Remember during Marocco scene when Oberhauser said she had visited Madeleine Swann when she was younger? there's actually a deleted flashback scene that has been leaked online,

I like the opening long takes scene. This movie's cinematographer is directed by Hoyte Van Hoytema right? No wonder looks like more grandeur and less 'shaky' cam while in action scene. It looks fluid to me though.

For longtime Bond fans, perhaps your enjoyment of this new movie will be determined by this:

FYI, I remember my first JB movie back in 1985

Just watched it, tied all loose ends and a nice farewell. However nothing beats Casino Royale in Craig's tenure.

Spectre (2015)

Gosh, this is hard....

Why?

Because of... wait, I am getting ahead of myself...

First of all, I am sure most of you are familiar with the fact that a movie, usually consist of three arch!!

I kinda like the first two arch and then... the third happened and I went what the HECK!!!...

Again I am getting ahead of myself...

Secondly, is that Ed Sheeran's James Bond song? Er... what happened? He suddenly discovered falsetto?? Seriously!! (Shame on you Ed, and me, an actually fan!!)

Thirdly, Léa Seydoux is drop dead gorgeous!! So beautiful in fact she seems surreal. To me anyway!! And here is the problem, if only she can act!!! I mean, come on!!! Okay she is not as superfluous as the bond girls in Roger Moore's James Bond, but come on. Since Pierce Brosnan, the bond girls have been great... Wait, there is an exception!! Teri Hatcher in Tomorrow Never Dies (1997). I can still remember that GOD AWFUL feather dress!!!

Andrew Scott...

Going back to my What The HECK, I was just blown away by the fact that I was so UNBLOWN AWAY by the ending!!! Am I making sense??

*Sigh*

Okay, okay, I had stated I kinda like the first two arch, namely

I don't know. This movie could have easily been one of the biggest money maker this year, if only the ending was more... unique.

It really does not matter what I say here, if you are a James Bond movie buff, you will watch this. And chances are you will enjoy it.

I believe many a people will insist that I am nitpicking.

Maybe I am.

As always,

My Two Sen

P.S. I wonder I wonder, did QuickFire enjoy this? Hmm... laugh.gif

The song is written and performed by Sam Smith - its not bad kind of grows on you - and Sam reportedly said it was hard to sing. There's a cover performed by a young English female student which is better than the original presented here.
