Reviews from UK are out. Apparently it is not as good as Skyfall, but still good movie just not the best 007 film. Too long runtime. Villains are not interesting.
I kinda have to lower expectations for this one. Still like Craig as Bond. Just hope for good old 007 fun like Kingsmen. Not expecting Oscar winning material

QUOTE(lyn_grayskale @ Oct 26 2015, 04:48 PM) This cannot possibly be 'not as good as' skyfall -- there's nowhere else to go but up after the very dull and bland 'skyfall' - the question is whether it as good as 'casino royale'. That's what the reviews say. I too, am not a fan of Skyfall and I like Casino the best.

For longtime Bond fans, perhaps your enjoyment of this new movie will be determined by this: http://screenrant.com/spectre-james-bond-movie-easter-eggs/FYI, I remember my first JB movie back in 1985

Finally got to watch! I've seen all 24x 007 movies since Dr No. Here's what I think: **BIT OF SPOILERS**
PLUS +Craig is still a good Bond, I can believe him as an assassin (compared to Brosnan) +The Mexican scenes are AWESOME - non-stop tracking, action and helicopter +The various countries he visited are nice to see - snow, mountain, desert, cities +The secret meeting scene does kind feel menacing +Nice attempt tying up the stories from previous Craig stories +Plenty of nice easter-eggs for longtime Bond fans (The costumes, the henchmen, the white cat, snow, the Bulldog, the car tricks, the Lair in middle of nowhere etc etc)
MINUS -Plot is weak and slow -Romance? Oh please... -Leading Bond girl - sorry nobody beats Vesper Lynd... period -Never felt that danger or excitement of previous Bond movies -All supporting characters (M -old and new, Q, Moneypenny) including villains are not given interesting things to do -Theme song => Not memorable (Sorry Sam Smith...)
Not the worst Bond mind you, I saw worse ones during Moore's tenure.
If I were to rank in terms of Craig's Bond movies: 1. Casino Royale - so much to like: Vesper, the poker scenes, the parkour, the ending, the torture (painful), the airport bomb plot... 2. Skyfall - admittedly artsy-fartsy, but far better plot (than Spectre), best villain I've ever seen, M is damn good, the cinematography is really really good. 3. TIE: Quantum and SPECTRE - QoS was poorly reviewed at the time, but I still think it is way better than some 007 movies. SPECTRE is a mixed bag of both good and bad.
OVERALL: 2.5 of 5 ~ Technically solid, but uninspiring and was a bit disappointed.

QUOTE(skylinelover @ Nov 21 2015, 08:38 AM) haha well said Just watched MI5. It's true... it's much better than Spectre... 1. The main actress is far better than the Bond girl. Sexier, stronger and more interesting 2. The heist section in MI5 was quite interesting and the car/motorcycle chase > any chase in Spectre 3. The teamwork in MI5 was better as well 4. The main villain is also more kickass than Blofeld Sadly the imitator is now better than the original.
