having 2 pci-e slot... screw up one GPU.. put in the another GPU to make the PC run and reflash the screwed ones.... i guess

yup, if u hav mobo wit >1pcie slot.

as long as the mobo detect GC, u can flash it.

my 4870 is dead, cannot even boot, den how i flash it...................
use my 8400gs as primary, put my 4870 in secondary slot, boot, & flash the GC in second slot..................

so if u hav crossfire/SLI mobo & a extra GC lying around, flashing bios is totally safe...........

they replacing my card with a new unit... but i have to wait coz they dun have stock for now.... getting in next week..... hope they are quick... sadly going back to kedah in 2 days. returning fren's GC... back hometown no internet... can't game.. i guess i need to stock up series on my laptop... this gotta sux...

Just got my gainward 4870x2 from moderno..muahahaha..very cool card. But i'm hearing some noise from the card during gameplay, slightly lower than the cpu fan noise, screeching, something like processing sound, and only during gpu intensive parts..anybody encountered this before?

screeching? better check with moderno fast and see wad is the problem.. easier for 1 to 1 exchange on early stage...

Almost got my gainward 4850GS today , but i found that it doesnt come with hdmi convertor . Can I use DVI-HDMI Convertor ? And the sales person cant confirm that whether the card will support 7.1 sound channel via HDMI . Anyone here can clarify for me ? Sorry for being noob here..........

no, u need to use DVI-HDMI dongle first, than only HDMI cable (dun use DVI->HDMI cable)

Pikacu, is it possible to buy the dvi-hdmi dongle that compatible with this card in lowyat ? Cos I wan output my graphics +sound with only 1 cable (HDMI) . Cos my fren encounter before that when they use the 3rd party dvi-hdmi dongle for HD3850 , it cant output the sound at all (Not even stereo sound) but Graphics is working fine .

my friend got this problem with 4850GS in a few games that he played. It's makes a screeching sound and a sound that he thinks isn't normal. maybe certain games has driver problem or the card itself has problem...not sure.

well, it should work the same..heck, my 3870 previously does not come with a hdmi dongle and the seller gladly gave me his..2 different brand though, still works the same
