4850GS 1gb and 4850GS 512mb which one better and what's the diff other than the 512mb diff.

gaming wise which one better?

u changed turbo mode while in windows?
or u shutdown,change to turbo..turn on back?

Dual bioses got advantage here. Each bios OCed to 775Mhz and 850Mhz respectively

I did some research..

My E6300 1.86 + 4850 = 40fps.

My E6300 @ 2.7 + 4850 =65 fps.

Game tested = GRID

Processer does affect the GPU.

Guys...i need a serious help....i bought HD4850 Gainward....but...i encounter black scrn problem ONLY ON Directx10 game...it works perfectly fine for directx9 games....I have already return the card once...and this is the second time i encounter tis black scrn problem...hope someone really help me out here....pretty upset for tis gainward card i bought ...

guys... i did turn off the PC and switch to turbo mode then only i boot up.. i been using turbo mode for a month... then driver keep crashing on 3dmark vantage. COD4. crysis warhead and so on.
and the card is not willing to OC. now even on the normal mode
it still crashes but less.
i tried 3dmark vantage in performance bench as promise and funny... the display driver crash and the benchmark got interrupted and stops.
then my  question is.... is there anything wrong with my card and should i RMA it...

and question to Scanart: how long would it take to RMA my card and izzit possible to have one to one exchange if checked and confirm got problem because this is now my only graphic card and without it i kenot run my PC. i am on P45 motherboard and there is NO intergrated graphic for me to temporary use.
in short i need it to be done fast. possible?

and... tech3910: what i can say is.. the golden sample 4870 is actually prices at the same as the reference cooler model from other brand or not cheaper at the time. and as for the turbo switch. extra feature.. why not? owikh84 say both mode overclock differently i am not sure but if it's true then it's very good to know. and of course u need to restart... is the bios u are messing with. u mess with ur motherboard bios or flash it. u need to restart also what.
last but not least i believe most ppl buy custom cooler graphic card is not for the extra power but is for countering the heat.

anyway.. i need my questions answered.. please and thank you ><

Mine is not GS...normal version..custom fan..its not signal lost...the scrn still on ....it will flash and flash sometimes...sometimes just black out n once i exit the program den no problem d....

another question.. is there really a big difference between 4850 GS 512MB and 4850 512MB?

3. Do you know how to flash the BIOS youself, both normal and turbo?

My E6300 slightly overclock to 2GHZ only(stock HSF). since i using 965P Gigabyte DS3 support to 1066FSB only TQ

Hey doods... and Serigala just got my brand new silver heat pipe 4850 GS. yeeey. works like a charm with the new 8.11 Catalyst buuuut... as always I have a problem. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to set the display on my tv. it shows black. i`ve tried everything: clone, extend, even each PAL settings on the list but the tv still shoes black. Now, i know the tv-out is not broken, since the booting process does display on the tv (mobo boot logo, windows xp loading) up until the part i have to sign in my user account. then, the tv goes black again. the lcd works perfect, the tv... not so much.

Any of you guys... and Serigala encountered this problem?

next to find a GS bios version..i will try to google it up later

I can't remember, something like not compatible with some games. You sure no problem at all? Then I straight get the 4850.

wah... so sad meh u.. room no fan gah..... hardwire the fans to USB =D or u can open on of the PCI black plate and route out 1 molex connector can ady marh....

i think don't want to change to 4870..just got 4850gs and my lcd is 17" 1280x1024... can run games at ultra high edy..hmm..if i do 4850 CF ok or not

rm395 for a 9600GT. save a bit more get 4830 or just get 4670 512mb which is like 50 bucks cheaper. should perform better too

1280x1024 gaming.. 4850GS would do. and OC the hell out of ur processor since that reso processor power plays it part a lot also.
noneed crossfire lar.. that reso... xfire.. overkill.... 4870gs less kena RMA lar.. mine kena lar.. but last time mostly RMA oso 4850GS the older copper heatpipe batch

i ady sms the carlson guy unfortunately i woke up late and when i sms him it was already 8 and he say he will check for me tomolo my 4870gs status... i need the card back fast!!! i need to be back to SP in less than a week time....
