Depend on what speaker u using, same as ching wooi said, if u have a good speaker, it is recomended u get a external soundcard for ur laptop . if u are using speaker below RM300 , i think it is not so necessary for u to buy a soundcard , better save the money and buy a good speaker

i agree to xk2... if u have cheap speaker, better invest for better speaker first...

haha, bro nismo dun too strict on it, judge it based on it's price. I believe it still the best 5.1 in the price range Listen to it once b4 at fren house, although the satelites cannot match with recent product from EDIFIER. but the woofer is not bad , able to give enough ohmmm, haha.. the time is on mounting the speakers first.. lol but this thing is good.

just tested it... it's superb. for the price, this is not a regret... although the box is super-heavy.. 17kg and the woofer is much bigger and heavier than i expect... well i like heavy stuff, its like shows me, my money is well spent for the material etc..

sound wise... bass is great, much better than C3 in my ear. the satellites.. im not sure, but i find it nice already.. maybe im basshead already. haha

price wise... no regret. really. and my version comes with tweeter, and it says R501 2004 edition behind the subwoofer.

and, i agree, for the price i think this is the best 5.1 already... somemore my room is terribly small. i cant imagine putting boomy speaker here. the boomier the speaker (like logitechs) the more echoes will reflect on the wall, that makes headache.. R501 just fit in nice.. really satisfied today, somemore got price slash for the r501, i cant get anymore happier.

another note: i wonder why edifier never made 2.1 for the R501, maybe something like R301... it surely gonna be a good-seller.

My fren plug only 2 satelites on his R501 so running in 2.1 mode The woofer is really quite nice, even my fren who owning S530D oso say the woofer of R501 can nearly on par with the S530D in certain condition.

Now all the R501 are coming with tweeter = R501MKII

no worries i bet the shopkeeper will help bring it to ur car, the hardest part when place it in the back seat of a Proton Wira. But the next 1 we use Iswara easier than fitting in a Wira.

if u buy such expensive stuff, sure u got the right to call them to help u lo...

i bought my R501 last saturday, which is 17kg weight it said. damn heavy bring alone already... S730D 30kg can give up now. lol
