nope you cant.. B1 visa doesn't allow you to work (unless you want to work illegally).. since the two-year rule does apply to you, you need to stay for 2 years at home before you can apply for another j1

some advise if u want to apply a visa from us embassy. for me they r too rude to malaysian since they r in our contry rite now. probably i will get 5years visa as he mentioned while interview process. but after the interview, the guard post stop me and said he's calling me back n he said he just can give 3month visa. wth!!! i pay for 500 and just get 3 month visa. and because im a student he said he cant give 5 years visa.

when the interview process he asked me to bring my transcrip result and its good result. else he asked me wether im interested or not to work in us. i said probably will working in us but im rather working in malaysia since this is my beloved contry and im travelling to us is just for gain my experience and want to the see the greatest american like in media.

i think he cut my 5 year visa to 3 month visa due to my answers. so all, plz be attention to ur answer cause they will the any advantages to cut ur visa period and not allow you to enter their contry. thats is their job smile.gif

only arrived at LAX airport, the imigration block me around 2 hours just to take my particular due this is my 1st entry to us.

but for all, us is very2 interesting place to visit since im going there alone smile.gif

if anyone need any advise from me if u want to go to Los Angeles, feel free to pm me. i'll help u on how to get the best/cheap hotel, planning ur journey cos while u r in LA, u can go to Las vegas. smile.gif

Hey guys anyone up to WAT 2010 winter program this year end? And... would summer or winter be better? as i cant find much info for WAT winter programs in terms of the jobs prospect and the places allocated..
as im with the aus Uni, i would have about 3 months plus of holiday during winter in US. else i would need to differ my sem for the summer program.

BTW i have apply through out of the box but its not confirm yet.. would speedwing be better?
Thanks guys in advance..

i never join wat in winter, but i join summer wat. as i know, winter jobs are normally (not all) in skiing resort, fast food chain, or supermarket. of course they can't give you much info for winter program NOW, as now it's still spring. u need to wait probably until august and september.

If your transit where your departure is on the same day as arrival, you do not need to get a transit visa...However, if your transit is on the next day even if it's within 24 hours, you should be able to get shore pass from the cabin crew which will be located nearby immigration counters...It's a 3 days visa and everything i mentioned is based from my experience

If you want to work in amusement parks, go for summer, amusement parks up north dont open in winter. In Winter most jobs are like servers in restaurants and fast food crew. I worked as a busser as my second job before, per day approx 12-22USD tips (not including pay). so working in restaurants wouldnt be too bad. Plus I got to eat at work too. Save money lor tongue.gif Depends where of course where you work. Different workplace different rules and stuffs.

Speedwing has slightly lesser fees.
