A big family group of us are planning to travel to USA next year to attend a wedding. But Im lost in trying to find out more visa application information from the above site. Can anyone help me on this please? 1) What is the requirement of applying visa? 2) Is it better to apply in KL or HK? I heard in HK it is simplier and easier, but it costs around HK$1100 for applicationi. 3) Is there a rule that single lady would usually fail in application? even thou she has letter to proof of her employment in Msia and with $ in bank account? 4) what is the requirement of having how much saving in bank account? 5) What are the procedures to apply visa? Since we dont live in KL, it is going to be a difficult for us cos we need to bring the whole family for a trip to KL first. 6) I heard there are interviews with appointment, is it possible that we make it on the same day so that everyone get interviewed on the same day? Cos we have elders and young babies... it is really going to be very messy 7) how long would it take to know the result? 8) how to collect the visa? within the day or few days later? Do we have to go in person again? Imagine the family traveling to gether in KL, preferbly if some go back hometown first, one adult stay back to collect them all, etc. 9) how long is the validity? I heard once approved, it is a 10 year visa? So i can have my first entry anytime within next ten years? Any of your opinions/sharings will be very much appreciated! Or kindly direct me to continue seeking else where. Many Thanks! This post has been edited by secretsquirrel: Jun 9 2009, 12:16 PM |

And if not mistaken you pay the fee in USD and I believe its the same no matter where you go. 6. All interviews are with appointment only. You only need one interview letter per family, but you have to find out their definition of family. From https://www.vfs-usa-my.com/ApplnForms/faqs.aspx#15: Children 13 and under do not need to appear in person. However, if the child is not present, only the parent or legal guardian of a minor child can apply for a tourist visa on behalf of that child. Parents or legal guardians must provide proof of relationship or legal guardianship status such as an original birth certificate or other court documents. Please note that applicants for student visas (F, M and J) who are 13 and under must be interviewed. |

QUOTE(yeahs4.1 @ Oct 25 2008, 12:35 PM) Good day folks, If u go west coast, when you touch down LA, you can go Universal Studio, Disney Land, Hollywood, Santa Monica and San Diego Zoo, further you can goto LV and Grand Canyon, all these are nice place to go...i've just joined the aforementioned program, it's a summer program so that would mean i'd be going to USA next summer(june). in this program, i'd be offered some job placement from different places all around USA. now the problem for me is, i've never been to the States, i don't really know where should i choose the location of my coming workplace, and most importantly, i don't really know where should i choose for work and travel. i'll be entitled 30 days for travelling, so what i gonna do is backpacking around there. since financial is an issue here, i've came to a conclusion that, it's either east coast or west coast. so i'll need an advice on this particular issue: 1. which place should i go? i dont wanna end up flying for LA to NY because it'll cost 500usd on flight alone. i know east coast has some must-go places, so does west coast. 2. can list out those must go places in both east coast and west coast so that i can have a better picture and it'll definitely help me planning the travel route. so far, i've done some searching and it's something like: West coast: 1. Grand Canyon (Arizona) 2. Golden Gate Bridge (California) 3. Las Vegas (Nevada) 4. Hollywood (California) East Coast: 1. Niagara Falls (New York) 2. Liberty Island (New York) 3. Kingda Ka, Six Flags (New Jersey) 4. Washington DC (Virgina) please advise. thanks peeps i'm now staying at Santa Rosa, 1 hour drive from San Francisco. http://normaotearoa.blogspot.com/ |

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?.../BAS319CDRO.DTL QUOTE Teen shot and killed in Oakland Saturday, August 22, 2009 A 14-year-old boy was shot and killed in Oakland, police said today. Ricardo Cortez Jr. was found suffering from gunshot wounds on the 1700 block of 47th Avenue at about 8:40 p.m. Friday, said Officer Jeff Thomason, Oakland police spokesman. The boy was taken to Highland Hospital in Oakland, where he was pronounced dead. No arrests have been made in the slaying, and a motive is under investigation. Good news just keep coming! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090822/ap_on_...ky_prison_melee QUOTE Rioting inmates set central Ky. prison ablaze budget cuts.. letting 40,000 inmates go?BURGIN, Ky. – Rioting inmates set fire to trash cans and other items inside a central Kentucky prison, and damage to some buildings was so extensive that officials were busing many of the facility's 1,200 prisoners elsewhere, police said Saturday. .. http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-pr...story?track=rss QUOTE Reporting from Sacramento - After an impassioned debate over the cost and benefit of California's massive prison system, the state Senate on Thursday narrowly approved a controversial bill to cut hundreds of millions of dollars in spending on state lockups by reducing the time lower-level inmates would spend behind bars and on parole. This post has been edited by patryn33: Aug 23 2009, 04:49 AMBut the proposal remained stalled in the Assembly, where a host of lawmakers vying for higher office refused to take a vote that could portray them as soft on crime. Speaker Karen Bass kept her members late into the night in an effort to push through a watered-down version, to no avail. The Assembly adjourned just before midnight without taking action, planning to reconvene Monday. "The caucus was exhausted," said Bass, a Los Angeles Democrat. "There still are several members who have issues with various parts of the bill." The discord came as the state faces a looming deadline from three federal judges to produce a plan to reduce overcrowding by taking about 40,000 inmates out of a system that now holds nearly 170,000. Democratic leaders and Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger have been pushing a proposal that could help satisfy the judges and save money to shore up California's shaky budget. .. |

Crime rate in big city USA normal-lah.. no big deal... same like elsewhere too. eg. Melbourne, Sydney, London. As long you stay away from those dark alleys or gangsta area, you are safe.
Malaysian students usually stay on around University campus and very safe. Most people study in Midwest area - smaller town - more friendly, safe and cheaper. Infact some places cost of living is cheaper than KL or Penang. I will visit USA again next month for business trip. |
