absolutely. choosing for normal yearling ST based on their beauty would be an irrelevant discussion, too subjective.
wp188, there are many factors to be concerned of when it comes to getting a ST - current health, diet, husbandry, etc. please do some read-ups before getting any. and do some research on why many old time keepers stopped posting pics of their tortoises on the net This post has been edited by camillenoir: Jun 7 2009, 04:28 PM |

QUOTE(camillenoir @ Jun 7 2009, 04:19 PM) and do some research on why many old time keepers stopped posting pics of their tortoises on the net Hm why's that? Coz they kept getting dissed by others?I finally fixed the "waterfall sound" that my filter makes by guiding the water to the walls with cling wrap and magnets |

QUOTE Hm why's that? Coz they kept getting dissed by others? nope. because old timers know better than to attract the attention of those from KM 10 Jalan Cheras. but that does not apply to RES Added on June 7, 2009, 6:08 pm QUOTE(Azazel @ Jun 1 2009, 02:35 PM) I have a question. Nowadays, a lot of shops selling chelonians with such claims that they come with papers. Have anybody seen one (the paper) or know how they (the papers) would look like? now that's a question many of us want answered, eh?Thanks in advance. Regards -Azazel- and how did people come up with the term partly CITES? This post has been edited by camillenoir: Jun 8 2009, 12:53 AM |

I usually use floating plants like Pistia stratiotes and Eichhornia crassipes.
Turtles most usually nibble here and there and so floating types would be easier to clean and maintain compared to submerged plants. For RES your size, small pistia is likely more suitable. |

A turtle requires vitamin D3, which can be synthesized in the turtles body after exposure to UVB.
Your turtle only needs artificial UVB source if it is not constantly exposed to sunlight or not supplemented with vitamin D3 in their diet. This post has been edited by camillenoir: Jun 8 2009, 03:21 PM |

2.0 is not enough to provide the UVB rays. Get the 5.0 26watt bulb ok.
