Do not release them back at the public man made lake. Better still put it up for adoption.

Anybody wants an adult Malayan Boxie? I found one wondering on the road yesterday in my neighbourhood. About 7inch straight carapace length. Haven't had a good look at it yet cause it boxes up when I go near. PM me by tonight for free adoption. Or suggest a good place for release in Kepong/PJ area. Thanks.

Jon: Just release the boxie back to nature. FRIM shouldn't be far from your place.

Spirit of Demon: Turtles at temples are being fed junks or monotonous food over and over. Most of the time, turtles are put in overcrowded, stagnant disease-ridden waters. Nothing good can come from there.

'Releasing' turtles at temples is in fact putting them to a miserable life and a slow death.

FRIM is actually a bad place unless you go deep inside. But even then, not sure if the hilly terrain inside is suitable. A lot of people release RES at the easier to access ponds in FRIM. Anyway, crazymouse offered to adopt it and put at her friend's pond. So should be settled already. Thanks everyone.

Haha I wanted to use blue danude at first, but Youtube didn't have the version I wanted.

The missus did quite a bit of shopping yesterday. Bought a big rock, tubiflex worm feed, shrimp feed, cuttlefish bone, a !@#!% expensive UV-B lamp, and a filter. Gonna get an aquarium later this week hopefully.

I have a question. Nowadays, a lot of shops selling chelonians with such claims that they come with papers. Have anybody seen one (the paper) or know how they (the papers) would look like?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

Yes star get sick an die easily, especially baby star(2-3 inch), except the UVB light u also need UVA light, UVA can provide the heat make the ST digest well. Substrate you can just use the newspaper, cheap and can clean easily. Humidity is better around 50-70 for ST. you need some supplement for your ST also. smile.gif

That's normal for a hatchling. Watch out for pyramiding as it grows though.
