i'm afraid i aint that expirienced in tort keeping but i do have expirience in keeping star tortoise (around 4 months)... however this impressed fella seems pretty much older and different... my star got RNS twice, dealing wid the second time now T_T (brought them to vets many times now).
i planned to keep the impressed in my balcony at first cos i thought it will be ok but found out that he suffers the heath too much and hates bright places being a mountain tort... so now i am not sure where i can keep him, my other only solution would b a tank, but i'm afraid a tank would not do since he is around 15 cm CL...what enclosure would be suitable anyway... and what else can i try to feed him since he only seems to be eating mushrooms?
(the vet told me he looks healthy and very responsive but a bit dehydrated, she did not know better as well anyway)

15cm What a coincident I have 1 that size as well !!! LOL

Wait till your Star's RNS is cured first then maybe I teach you more !! But you have being reading I can see !! But just trust or believe 60 or maybe 75 % of what yo have just read !!

As for diet beside mushroom - they will take a lot more stuff just need to be taught !!

They look normal(no abnormal growth or sort) so my guess is the smaller one a Male !!

Can close-up on the nails and the tail end of both ?? Thanks

is your male or female? i'm not sure what is mine... however... for sure i have been reading, but there is little about impressa care on the net, so i panicked a bit... my impressa ate a bit of pumpkin and some veggie too, which made me very happy, another thing that worried me was that he did not poo for 3 days, but at last the other day he poo... i moved him to my bf garden the other day, gonna get a fence and let him stay in a shaded corner of the garden, the only problem is that the end of the garden has a lot of ant nest... are ants going to be a problem for my tort? where do u keep yours anyway?

Since you got it already what more can I say !!

All the best and good luck !!!

i plan to move my RES to an outdoor pond (used to house my dad's KOIs) in the near future. what are the risks? my neighbors have cats and since i live near the jungle, monkeys wander around as well. once in a while, we'll get toads stopping by for a quick stay as well.

If they are large enough say 6 inch and above why not ? Only the toad's eggs a worry if they do lay them !! But do make/build them a dock to sunbath !!

No stock so far! But price around rm150-250 range for my side, cheaper if take in dozens!

How about your side ?
*
Mine seen offered by the 10s as low as RM 100 for hatchlings to about 300 depending on season (some of these are offered from Chinese Turtle farm )!!

A lot more sp being offered from those farms but mostly turtle sp only !!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That might explain why Reeves turtle are offered so cheaply lately a bit more than RES only !!

Ya I saw them but not mine !! - nothing came out just yet (thats why he's upset )

As they sort of share CITES quota with emys emys and only Malaysia and Indonesia have them annually So do check them (paper for export) out first for the CB F1 or 2 or 3 ...etc
