Noted on your point. Here is something I have observed for the past few years keeping them on various setups (3 types to be exact). All were moved from one setup to another at the same time. Therefore, there was not even one day each was separated from the other. But the way they do grow seems different. I will give you two more examples. They are as below:

Specimen 1:

This specimen came to me with a slightly distorted carapace whereby the few back half of its scutes were higher that the rest. But after about a year or so, all the scutes starting to show the same height. Either the front scutes had risen or the back scutes had sucken. I sincerely do not know which is which until now. But she seems to look way better now compared to before. Back then, people thought she was cacat LOL!

Specimen 2:

The ideal cherry scutes should look like this right? If so, this exact specimen was kept at exactly the same condition with the bigger one. And they are the same batch. The big one was way smaller than this specimen but now this specimen is the smallest in my collection. Does this mean that it's a male? But it doesn't look like any other males I have though. I really can't tell yet because it's still 3.5 inch (+-). It eats like a pig though. But doesn't seem to grow much. As you can see from its head, this specimen is also being kept dry.

Now comes the most important question i.e. why do some specimens' carapace are smooth while some are "warty" eventhough their husbandry are exactly the same? Do genetics play any part in this? I asked because eventhough they were all from the same shipment batch, they do not however look like they came from the same parentage.
Yes I remember. I just forgot to ask this one question though i.e. did he received them like that or did he made them thay way? They were ugly though. Look exactly like a carved pu$$y. LMFAO! Anyway I noticed his indoor setups too. And they were completely different from mine. His setups were totally (as in they look like they were living in a desert LOL!) dry. I always thought that scutes are made to grow "out". But he managed to make them grow "in". It's amazing. LOL!
