QUOTE(corad @ Feb 1 2010, 02:57 AM) everything after a reformat. apart from nVidia, Intel (damn hassle) and Realtek ... anything else i had to use the one's included in the disc.. thumbs down for this i thought window 7 can search for driver on the internet? but so far i havent reformat, but for my old laptop, other than processor driver and graphic driver, i also use back the driver from the disc they gave me. |

QUOTE(Mr.Docter @ Feb 25 2010, 03:16 PM) i found that np8690 have quite a similar look to np8662, i would say it give a very solid feelQUOTE(SonicSpyro @ Feb 25 2010, 07:06 PM) Maybe in a couple of days or maybe none at all. Since there are many people who have posted reviews of the laptop online. XD Annnnnndddddddd......... I just found 1 DEAD PIXEL!!!! AHHHHHH!!!! If I didn't find it.... I wouldn't be looking for it and now I'm doing exactly that. you are using sager....bye bye to the term "overheat", say hello "performance" instead I thought the battery would overheat @ lose some of it's charge if I turned on the charger for a long time? Or am I wrong? Any ideas on how I can lower my CPU temps? It's running at 5x on idle. My GPU on the other hand, 4x degrees. heat will not kill your laptop, especially the battery, few hours of gaming the battery bay still cold like i just on the laptop i'm using NP8662 |

QUOTE(SonicSpyro @ Feb 27 2010, 06:32 AM) Performance, that's true! get another sager for her instead I just took off the plastic that was covering the CPU heatsink. Temps dropped to <47 degrees with occasional 50s'. Woooohhhhoooo! I'm loving this laptop a lot. Too bad not much time to play with it since I have to work on my GF's Vostro which is on the verge of dying (aged 2 years) from dots across the screen. ~_~ |

QUOTE(bobbykatoi @ Mar 6 2010, 11:07 AM) not very big differences... they design the back cover to be user friendly, so you can clean your fan and upgrade component inside, it wont void your warranty, but do be careful. but seem ati5870 is beter than 285m in certain games.. well i think i will choose ati 5870 for my np8690.. but one question.. if i order np8690 without hdd and put my own hdd,is it will void my warranty cause i open the back cover? haha hope u can swap it bro.. i wonder how much it will cost for sager NP8662 battery alone, and wonder is the battery still available for sell after 1 year |

QUOTE(SonicSpyro @ Mar 8 2010, 01:53 PM) I'm staying in a room without air-cond and not using a cooler. Just using the table and the ceiling fan. air-cond? notebook cooler? sager can live without that Here are my current temps (GE ran the whole night): ![]() See how nice and cool that is. I imagine it to be cooler when I re-paste the CPU + GPU. Also, I've read that the laptop doesn't really need a cooler as the cooler only supplements it. Wait and see how yours goes first, then you will know if you need a cooler or not. dont know i should feel sorry or feel proud, when i sit opposite my friend on the same table, he and me using laptop, when i play game my laptop fan spinning at full speed blowing all the hot air to his laptop make his laptop and the table hot |

QUOTE(Fantasia @ Mar 9 2010, 09:50 PM) depends on what environment you are at, if at those place that does not have much noisy and your fan spinning full speed, sure can hear the fan, otherwise hard to noticethe fan only go full speed when GPU hit 80c, and it will slowdown when GPU is at around 65c to 70c, other than gaming, i dont think you can reach 80c even with the worst air ventilation. QUOTE(setoyo @ Mar 9 2010, 10:14 PM) too bad, only got silent mode, no turbo mode |

GPU is around 49c to 53c like that, full load maximum 82c, hardly reach full load when the fan is full speed.
i dont have the picture of the temperature reading, only got benchmark results with the temperature. |

it seems like all of the HDD in NP8662 got higher temperature than others, but as long as it doesn't exceed 60c then is safe.

RM1.5k after tax is like 100% tax charged
by right every single computer hardware should not be tax in malaysia, so consumer have to be smart. |
