i just cancelled my order
since the order will be delayed so i thought, why not just wait and speculate for the 6970m so i can pair it up with a 2720qm
rather than 485m and 2630qm
this is really saddening, wait after wait this is gonna take forever

While we continue to do everything in our power to understand this issue, we have made a decision to halt shipments of 8130, 8150 and 8170 systems until we have a full grasp of the issue and a timeline for resolution. We realize this may be an inconvenience to some of our customers, but we feel it is important that we have full confidence in the product before shipping. We thank you in advance for your patience.

i think most of u will get the laptop end of march or early april

I was going to buy next week actually.. luckily havent bought.. but waiting is goin to kill..

it's better to wait rather than you have to deal with problematic laptop.

And hopefully after the repairs, the laptop may be implemented with more SATA III's instead of SATA II XD

I cancelled my order from LPC-Digital and went for a closer reseller (LogicalBlueOne). I won't be sure that I'll be receiving it in time. Oh well, all for the better I guess.

Is it a good time to create a new thread?

Intel say the new 1 will finish end of feb and sager must take 1-3 weeks to dissamble back and shipping eveything it must me early april

Anyone owns this model ? NP5160

How's the performance ?

I don't own it, but it's aimed at longetivity; it has NVIDIA's Optimus, so it's able to switch to 2 GPUs, from this its able to prolong battery life without regards to performance. You can watch movies or surf or whatever with the intergrated GPU and play games with the NVIDIA GPU.

The graphics card isn't as powerful as Sager's NP8xxx series, but the NP5160 is able to run high settings on current games.

Intel Series 6 Chipset (Sandy Bridge) Recall Information

Sager and Clevo have consulted together and have decided that both Sager and Clevo will halt all pending shipments of Intel 6 series chipset systems. Models include Sager NP5160, NP5170, NP8130, NP8150, NP8170. (Clevo: W150HNQ, W170HN, P150HM, P151HM1, P170HM).

The current schedule is that starting in the middle of Feb 2011, Intel will start supplying qualification samples of the new revision of Intel 6 series chipset to Clevo. Clevo RD and QC will make it their first priority to test and qualify this new chip revision and prepare for mass production.

Currently the mass production version of the revised 6 series is scheduled to begin delivery from Intel to Clevo in limited quantities at the end of Feb 2011. We estimate that we will resume limited quantity shipment of Sager models NP8130, NP8150, and NP8170 in the middle of March 2011 and limited quantity of NP5160, NP5170 models at the end of March to the beginning of April 2011. Stabilization of shipment for all models should occur by the end of April 2011.
