i wonder if ps3 can support this in the future or not. the spec is hardware-dependent or just software-based? |

I don't know.
Even HDMI 1.3 can be downloaded... lol. Maybe it's for cable producers? Added on June 4, 2009, 6:21 pmJust checked, it is indeed for manufacturers. As it does add Ethernet capability, you do need an extra wire in the current HDMI for it to work. This post has been edited by SSJBen: Jun 4 2009, 06:21 PM |

QUOTE Connectors There are four HDMI connector types with Type A and Type B defined since the HDMI 1.0 specification, Type C defined since the HDMI 1.3 specification, and Type D in the 1.4 specification. Type A Has 19 pins with bandwidth to support all SDTV, EDTV, and HDTV modes.[2] The plug's outside dimensions are 13.9 mm wide by 4.45 mm high.[49] Type A is electrically compatible with single link DVI-D.[50] Type B This connector has 29 pins (21.2 mm by 4.45 mm) and can carry double the video bandwidth of Type A for use with very high-resolution future displays such as WQUXGA (3840×2400).[51][50] Type B is electrically compatible with dual link DVI-D but has not yet been used in any products.[50][52] Type C A mini-connector is intended for portable devices.[53] It is smaller than the Type A connector (10.42 mm by 2.42 mm) but has the same 19 pin configuration.[54][53] The number of pins is the same but the signal assignment is different because of the different shielding requirements due to the signals being in a single row. The differences are that all positive signals of the differential pairs are swapped with their corresponding shield, DDC/CEC Ground is assigned to pin 13 instead of 17, CEC is assigned to pin 14 instead of 13, and the reserved pin is assigned to pin 17 instead of 14.[55] The Type C mini-connector can be connected to a Type A connector using a Type A-to-Type C connector cable.[53] Type D Introduced in the HDMI 1.4 specification,[56] it keeps the standard nineteen pins of Types A and C, but shrinks the connecter size to something that resembles a micro USB connector.[57] The Type D is 2.8 mm high by 6.4 mm wide, whereas the Type C is 3.2 x 11.2mm; for comparison a micro USB connector is 2.94 mm x 7.8 mm. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hdmi#Connectors the number of pins are same. i dont know much about hdmi chip/controller in devices (if it exists at all), but if they are sw-based, i think at most, devices with pre-1.4 flashable roms will only need typeD-to-typeA/B adapter. however if it needs extra chips or whatever, then i think only new revisions of ps3 can have 1.4 |

I remember reading a report that during the production of the PS3, one of the main reason of a rather late launch to the market was also because of the HDMI controller on the PS3. As Sony decided to support spec 1.3 at the last minute. |

WTF...Sony released Street Fighter Alpha 2 as PSOne Classic....haf ta bai this one...only USD 5.99
And Trash Panic is 4.99 USD instead of USD 9.99 and it's so much cheaper than SGD Store.... US Store = USD 4.99 = ~ RM 17.42 SG Store = SGD 23.00 ~ RM55.51 If MY store pricing is going to be like this...I will never support them. Neway...Bought both Trash Panic and Street Fighter Alpha 2....It's a bargain!!!! This post has been edited by lapaq: Jun 5 2009, 09:28 AM |

MGS1 ON PS3 USA CLEAR COPY MAH ![]() The original Metal Gear Solid is coming to the PlayStation Store as a "PS one Classic," playable on the PSP and PlayStation 3. That we knew. But we didn't know the when and the how much. Konami has officially put a price on the re-release now that all that other Metal Gear Solid related news is out of the way. The Hideo Kojima epic will arrive at the PS one Classic premium price of $9.99 USD on June 18th, two days after the "Greatest Hits" version of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots ships in the States at its new budget price of $29.99. Two great ways for gamers to get reacquainted with Snake and crew before Metal Gear Solid: Rising and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker hit. ============ p*** AYAM BETULLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!! AKU DAH BELI MGS1 JAPAN PULAKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
