I would say the sound is neutral to the dark side. The NAD focus more on the mid rather than high. If you're looking for an exciting sound amp, this is not for you. I've compared with Marantz PM6004, the sweetness of treble produced by PM6004 really fascinating。
When people are saying NAD C326BEE has more punchy bass than other amps that are in the same class (around 50 watts), I doubt so. I'm hunger for more bass when pairing with wharfedale 10.1, I think to drive it well, at least C356BEE should be considered.
For me, NAD C326BEE is not the best choice, but it will never be a wrong decision.
I wish to have NAD T748 (an av receiver), though the sound quality for stereo purpose is questionable, I think the multi-channel output and other functions like dac, fm receiver, hdmi will definitely worth it.
In earlier post which I mentioned I would like to let go my 10.1 for RM950, because if anyone willing to pay for it, I would like to upgrade to a floorstander for fuller sound.
I've heard the NAD T748 but not with wharfedale speaker. Demo it with Dali speakers, zensor and lektor series for music, but i dont really like the sound. Feels like not much power to drive them, not enough dynamic. I'm not sure why, maybe due to playing the audio cd via bd player. I dont think the T748 can't drive them, just trying the small bokkshelf only. But the full home-theatre setup is superb though. When people are saying NAD C326BEE has more punchy bass than other amps that are in the same class (around 50 watts), I doubt so. Ok, enough with that, finally i'm proud to be in this Wharfedale family, just bought Wharfedale 10.2 with 10 cs centre speaker for pairing with Yamaha rx-a810 receiver. I'm able to compare with the new diamond 100 series, the Wharfedale 122 which the smaller version (Wharfedale 121) has 5 star rating from whathifi. Comparing 10.2 with 122, 122 has more solid bass but lesser treble. I picked the 10.2 because i like the design and look. Overall, i like the sound, more on the bright side as most say yamaha receiver is bright, but more than good for starter like me to start a home theatre setup.
Comparing music listening with my previous powered speaker audioengine A5, of course this new setup is much cleaner sounding, more detail and crispy high. Bass is just good, solid but audioengine a5 has punchier and big bass which may muffled the overall sound.
