Jade 3 is less than RM4k (Desa home). The sound is bright and I think it will be fantastic for movies if not one of the best for movies.

This is what I managed to find out from google;

4.4 stars -> http://reviews.homebase.co.uk/1494-en_gb/116237/reviews.htm

Hi guys,

2 questions here regarding Wharfedale speakers;

(1) What is the highest end series from Wharfedale? Opus II?

(2) Can anyone sort the Whardefale series from entry level to the highest end? So far I only know Opus II > Jade > Diamond

Regards,

Eric Lim

Get the Diamond 10 series. Slightly more expensive but when you play it, you will know where your money went.

I agree. IMO, Diamond offer the best value for its class and price range. thumbup.gif

And yes, go get it from Desa HT. Best prices around.

I spent half a day there trying out all sorts of speakers. Almost got the Acoustimass 6 until I tested the Wharfedale Diamond 10. Half the price but double the pleasure to the ears.

Thank you for the recommendation. Is it the 10.0? The smallest one?
What about center speaker?

Thanks again notworthy.gif

From my knowledge for comparing the brands of speakers that I am interested. I found generally the price is the same after conversion (origin country is US, UK and French). Maybe the distributor found some way to skip the import tax etc... Generally only very few (found one) brand mark up super high (even higher than Australia) for Malaysia. In general, Australia is about 50% more as compare to here. cool2.gif

I used to be running sub-less for 6 years with Diamond 8.3 floor-standers for front speakers, (Diamond 8 center, and DFS surrounds) driven by a Yamaha AV amp ... but recently I upgraded to a NAD T748, and added a Wharfedale SPC-10 sub, and the sound is totally transformed ... used to be loud and "noisy", but now it goes loud and clear and so much more enjoyable.

Desa Home Theater is located in two locations ... the main branch is at Kompleks Desa, and the second branch is at Low Yat Plaza.

Diamond DFS speaker is not that cheap, if you have enough space, I suggest you pick bookshelf type.
It sounds better than DFS at same cost, or lower.
