hey guys

i have been using diamond 8 series 5.1 (bipole surround, SW subbie) for almost good shape over 4 years

the speakers really serve me well (in term $ vs perf.), love the yellow-ish Kevlar mid driver drool.gif

but once i m in deep BLU now... i m really hunger for better mid range speakers like 683/684 & a velodie sub tongue.gif

how about u guys... CHEERS

i'm with Diamond Center speaker for years, recently watch Tsai Chin in Concert baru realise my center spk not enuf liaw, when got extra $$$,i'm thinking of exchange the center with my Klipsch bookshelf now(my current front spk),set up a 6.1,convert surround back to single channel, ( not 7.1,very "ma-fun" and not enuf $ ).

quite like the shape of Waffy Pacific Evo 30 floorstander ( the piano finish one is nice ) but feel a bit "not tall enuf " tongue.gif I saw a pair of demo unit here selling 3.3k,brand new 4.8k.Brand new walnut finish only 3.8k drool.gif

OT a bit, anyone here got JBL ES100 with 2 pcs 10" woofer ? Saw it last few days, the outlook very nice smile.gif

Eventhough I do not own a Wharfedale now but my first set of speakers was a Wharfedale Studiocraft, way back in 1981 liaw.. hehehe, driven by the infamous NAD 3020, it was great(loud, musical and dynamic) especially we're having a party! thumbup.gif

used to study in england circa late 90s and back then, whafedale stuff were like 'second grade'...don't think any of the student hifi kakis there were considering whaferdales as part of their system.

most of us were into mission, B&W etc (thanks of the what hi-fi!)...but i guess whaferdale's branding have improved now.. smile.gif

Wah, finally a thead for Wharfedale speakers. rclxms.gif

I used to own a pair of the award winning Diamond 9.1. Very nice smooth sound, though a little bit to warm for my taste.

IIRC, the phrase "Britain's Most Famous Loudspeakers" was on the box. hmm.gif

I used to have the WH-2 center speakers as temporarily solution...tongue.gif

cheap & good quality but don't expect too much from the small driver especially the low & high range...mid tone were very good though...

Wharfy 9.1 not bad, price range is arround RM850-900 and cheapest i quote is RM800. From Desa Audio LYP, i was 3 months ago.
All audio stuff's price hike recently, but you can try to get some 'old' stock.
Dont forget to put Tannoy Mercuru MX1 in your shotlist too, my 2 cents smile.gif
