Response cushion 17 I think. Yeah, I suspect it is my running style, cos this is my second pair. 1st pair was giving me problems, so I switched to this.

Any good websites that teaches you how to run properly?
*
i am not very familiar with adi shoes. but i think the cushion 17 is just a cushioning shoe w very little stability. u may need high stability shoes for ur knee is you are a over pronator.

Hrmm...well your left foot seems to have a mild flat arch and your right is high arched, probably i suspect because you left feet lands inwards and your right outwards, how old are you shoes by the way?  i would recommend that you get stability shoes as your next purchase though, this is my suggestion lets see what other fellow runners here have to say smile.gif
*
triple, u got it right.

Both the feet is so different from each other. One is almost a flat foot while the other is high arch. u need to get shoes that have cushion + stability support and Arch Support too.

hehe me never do double hill before.
just want to ask, i know there are a lot of advocaters and pro's out there saying we should taper during the last 2 week before the big day.
Is it mainly to avoid injury or to conserve energy and allow our body and legs to heal???
either reason it still make sense to taper.....but i also have an alternative thinking.

assuming you are training for a ultra marathon......you would be probably doing 42k's as weekly training and 42k becomes an easy distance to cover...suffering only starts beyond that distance tongue.gif

now using the same principle, suppose we don't taper off this weekend, and continue to run high 35k's and then next week run 42k (take race day as training prequel to something bigger). 1 week is enough to recover and restore all the energy back to our body, no?
*
marvin, if your next run is still a training run then no prob. you may not be fully recover but the pace is easier and u can afford not to complete it. but if next week is race day, u will definitely want a fresh body with fresh legs all eager to go. one tends to run harder in a race if the body is willing to give and the reserve is there. so therefore you may not want to risk having weak legs on race day because the week before you had a high mileage run. thats the principle behind it.

icic...thanks for enlightening me ccube! smile.gif

issit advisable to do a fast 20km this sat?? feel like testing my limit if i do a fast pace.  meaning to run at a pace i feel reasonably hard, where i feel just able to sustain.  just so i know how far to push during the race and yet be able to sustain the distance.
*
not advisable. u shud have done this during one of your training runs, not now u may aggravate or cause some form of injury if u push all out to test your capability one week before raceday.

try Weider IN Jelly from Japan. I find it more effective than Powergel. One pack is 180kcal vs 110kcal. I take one pack b4 run and that will last me at least 25k. Summore cheaper which i can get at dealer price ie RM6. Shelf price is RM6.70 at Maxvalu and JayaJusco.

FYI, i have gave up Powergel long2 time ago. No ommmph one.

ccube: forgot to ask, are you targetting any timing for scklm?

am trying btw 4.30 to 4.40 finishing. but generally i dont pressure myself with timing, if i feel good on race day, then the consistency along the race will be there.

that would be great for my virgin marathon timing hahaha.
dun know got strength to pace together with you or not haha... we can just follow the 4:30 pacer....but then maybe have to go a bit faster taking into consideration resting time in between to take the gels.
i m thinking 5 min stop at 15km, 5 min stop at 30km and another 3 min stop at 35km.
*
dont need to stop so long one lah, max 1 minute. u take ur gel on the run when approaching the water station.

ooo... haha inexperience.
cos everytime training also will stop at petronas. i never do a continuous run for such a long distance before...wonder if my leg/heart will hold without resting.
devilzzz sure hope everything will go well...
*
in a race, time is an essence. so u dont lepak and sembang at the water stop. Just hydrate and move on.

anyway I will park at the usual Bukit Aman carpark. 1km warmup walk to start point and then 1km warm down walk back to carpark after race. this have been the same for me for the past 3 years running the 42k.

marvin, no worries lah. the walk back is a good warm down, stretch muscle exercise. no doubt its a 1km walk but that not bad lah.
