@ccube
are u gonna run at the lake gardens this coming sat/sun? would like to meet up with u to get the lock laces from you.
can you also bring the women's shoe box as well? my sista wants to try the saucony shoes out. she needs a a US9 - 9.5. u got those sizes available?
and if you don't mind, can bring the men's box too? men's sizes needed are ranging from UK10 - UK10.5 (my bf wants to try them out).

i finally ran in the shoe on road for the 5km run last sun (not even 3 i feel..) it felt very good. superb cushioning. i tried running in them again yesterday on road around cyberjaya(ran about 6.5k), they were lovely. my feet din even hurt a bit. the only thing i feel i need now is a pair of thicker socks. cos my right foot rubs too much causing the balls of my foot to heat up quite a fair bit as compared to the left side. overall, i think its a very good pair of shoes i've tried to date.
*
I will be at Lake Gdns (same place) this Sat. Is ur sis and BF also looking at triumph 5?

kenken, no worries.

there is nothing to be ashame of having the Jazz12 for the 10k run as the shoe had proven itself and taken many runners thru the 84k route of the recently concluded Sundownn UltraMarathon rclxms.gif

ann, I have run out of stock for BodyGlide. Have another brand Sports Shield which have the same function and as reliable. I used it during last sunday 42k race, passed with flying colors. the only diff is BodyGlide is wax based while Sports Shield is liquid based (roll-on). BodyGlide 0.5oz selling at RM26, while Sports Shield 1.5oz selling at RM50. If you want it then I will bring along this Sat.

where is their outlets?

for RM230 u can get a good neutral cushioning shoe from Saucony. Model is Jazz 12. A proven shoe indeed in many races. FYI, this is a shoe mfg in 2008 as compare to those u find in the sale. most of those shoes are mfg in either 06 or 07, so just be careful when buying. chk out the sole and ensure its not too stiff if u are interested to buy.

u can PM me and we can make arrangement to meet up and do a COD.

what barnd of shoe u sell?
what different with famous brand like Nike, Reebok, Mizuno, Asics?
Please advice?
ALso, is it the shoe divide to long distance and short distance run?
*
i sell a brand called SAUCONY as informed by metal. although its not very well known in Malaysia (pretty popular in USA and in the tri communities), but most runners are aware of the brand. Some swear by it that its the best brand in town. But brands are pretty subjective depending on whether the model itself fit individual runners.

maybe wat u can do is to do a wet test (wet both ur feet and step on a piece of newspaaper, make sure ur feet is wet) and post it here. From the picture of your feet imprint we will be able to tell and advise what kind of feet u have and then be able to narrow down to the type of running shoes for you.

Note: Another brand that i just gotten a contract to represent is NEWTON. Its not a shoe for every runner, mopre suitable for a forefoot striker/runner.

Added on July 2, 2009, 9:09 pmtriple02, very detailed explanation and ez to understand. TQ for the contribution to the newbies here.

You shud give Hurricane 10 a try, definitely lighter and good support+cushioning.

if u are looking for Asics Kayano 15, then give Phoenix a call as he is selling it now. he shud be able to give you some decent discount.

hello sifus do you guys wash your running shoes? i plan to wash them but people online have different views about saying it will ruin the shoe or something. so just dropping by to ask for opinions biggrin.gif thanks!
*
kenken,

i am one of them who wash my running shoe because after every 20k run, my shoe is soak with my sweat.

You can wash them use the following method:

1) Soak your shoe with very little detergent for abt 10-15mins
2) Wash and rinse with clean water
3) Place ur shoe at 45 degree with the toebox pointing the floor to drip dry
4) The shoe will normal dry in 1 to 2 days
5) Never spin ur shoe inside the washing machine
6) Never dry your shoe under the hot sun

looks tough. cut off time for duo is 9 hrs. means 4:30 for 50km....cant even do 42km in that time yet haha.
maybe get a kenyan running partner hahaha. then u get like 6 hour buffer.
*
"The cut-off time for a runner running 50km in the 100km duo will be 9hrs and for a runner running 25km in the 50km duo will be 4 ½ hrs"

I interpret it as the cut off time for a runner doing 50k is 9hrs. so max out for 2 runners is 18hrs. am i right rclxub.gif

Hi, ccube, can I ask when shoe should I wear if I want something light but comfortable?

Currently I'm using new balance 767, but i feel that the shoe is pretty heavy, making me hard to run, but one good thing about this shoe is it wont give me any blister onto my leg after running 42k that day.

please advise me.

thanks  biggrin.gif
*
the NB767 is a good training shoe but a bit on the heavy side for race day. especially when you want to have some advantage ie getting a good timing. The Saucony Fastwitch 3 had been proven to be a pretty light + good cushioning race day shoe. Weighing just around 7oz, this is the shoe which had been well accepted by most runners around. I personally used it for all my races. Selling at RM260 after 40% discount.

Added on July 5, 2009, 6:48 pmi just wanted to address some on the queries that were posted by different person here.

Brand is just a name. and diff brands have their own technology that they will promote. Whether which brand is better, then its very subjective.

The most important when choosing a running shoe is that the model itself will blend well into ur foot structure. I always advised runners that the most expensive shoe in town which have the greatest technology may not be the right shoe for you.

For example, if you know that u have a high arch, then narrow down to shoes that provide a good arch support for your feet. Shoes that do not provide a good arch support will eventually result in your arch having pressure pain after a long run. if this is not corrected, overtime this may result in ankle injury.

so do take note of this when choosing a pair of running shoes.

i visited. sadly, they're over my budget. =.=

i'm just looking for a shoe that can satisfy my comfort and running needs.

something basic and lasting.

considering lower budget new balance or asics
*
assuming that you have a neutral feet, then you basically can wear most shoes in the market. Saucony Jazz 12 is a neutral cushion shoe which is priced pretty competitive in the market. Selling at RM230 (after 40% discount) this model is voted "Best Buy Shoe" by Runners World USA for 2008/2009 season. The model had proven itself where runners had used it for numerous 42k races and even the recently concluded Sundown 84k Ultra Marathon. do let me know if you want more infor abt it. just PM me.
