you guys take power gel during run all the time??
does it work? like instantly? im sorry. i never eat before
*
PowerGel not much effective for me. Its not in my list long long time ago. I take a Japanese brand jelly like gel called Weider IN Energy. Other options are GU Gel or Accel Gel. These gel does provide some form of energy.

Syd G, I dont know. currently i purchase from GNC. But if things go well, I may be selling Endurox R4 via another source. Watch out and definitely better pricing for LYN runners.

Weider gel very big size la, how u carry when run?
*
marvin, i take the whole pack b4 starting the run, it will last me at least till 25k. and in a marathon race, i will carry along a GU gel with me.

if not u can still carry it along, holding the pack is not too inconvenient.

Added on June 5, 2009, 3:11 pmA small comparisons between Weider IN Energy Jelly and PowerGel

Weider
Calories - 180kcal
CHO - 45g

PowerGel
Calories - 110kcal
CHO - 28g

I dont feel hungry even running 30k with a pack of Weider. Price wise, Weider is selling at RM6.70 at MaxValu and PowerGel is RM6.50 according to a posting earlier. Both are rack price. I can get Weider at RM6, buying in one cartons of 24 pack.

the pain is not on the toe.
hmmm its at the centre. i dont know call what area.

don't think its the cushioning.
*
if its at the top of your feet then most probably its too much pressure on it. Cud be cause by 1) the lacing is too tight or 2) the pounding of your feet on the ground ie you are running longer distance in a short span of time where your feet is not fully recover and fully rested.

not sure what is it. i press top of foot and heel also cannot feel pain.

But if i stand up and press hard and twist around a bit then will feel pain.

seeing a specialist tomorrow to check it out.

maybe its the shoe lace, cos i have been trying to tighten it as much possible since i visited a podiatrist who advice me to do so.... hahah bad advice?
*
if its the shoe lace then try out LOCK LACES www.locklaces.com which will provide a good grip rather then ttie too tight. I am selling it at RM30 per pair.

first time heard of lock laces. looks interesting.

let me check out my porblem with the specialist first.
but the lsd last saturday really very harsh. dun even have stamina to do my usual run today. 2km have to knock out liao
*
marvin, dont push too hard anymore. this week long run shud be btw 25-30k max. then 2 weeks to recover. this is not the time to push for mileage anymore and injure urself.

ccube...wahhh so good u sell the lock lace.
i donno how to tie my shoe lace. sumtimes it open. damn stress...
*
elgato, then its even more obvious u need Lock Laces, no need to tie laces all the time. Just slip your feet into the shoe once the right adjustment is done using Lock Laces.

U r rite, with injury dun even think can start marathon....sigh..that would be a huge dissapointment!

after the insane training and suffering haha.

just hope its nothing serious.
*
i hope its nothing serious. Probably just too much pounding and pressure building up at the top part of the feet. do rest this weekend and even if you must run, just do a 15-20k. i think u have done enuf long runs to pull thru the run on race day.

syd g,
waking up on morning sats are a big problem for me. tongue.gif

anyway...dun wan to trouble him(not nice la if try edi then tak ngam)...i'd rather bother those shoe salesman...for the time being.
still shoe hunting...
*
bubb13s, dont worry. no obligation in trying out the shoe. I am not here to sell u the most expensive shoe but to sell you the right shoe for your foot bio-mechanics. if you dont feel good and there is no saucony model that fit, I rather not sell it to you. Thats my principle. I am a runner too, so getting the right pair of shoes to run is extremely important and not getting the best looking shoe to run. give me a call at 0193289083 and i can meet you at lake gdns on Sat after my run from 9-930am.

doctor gave me an x ray...confirm nothing wrong with the bones.
suspect could be due to ligament tear.....
best part is he said i could continue running, and if problem persist then only go back see him hahahahaha

though i am still not sure what is causing this mild pain, but its a huge relieve to me.....at least still can run! so dun care liao, after scklm can rest 99 then sure can recover.
*
marvin, great to hear tat. looks like its more like over trained and little rest. I think its just the pressure building up, and it will ease off with more rest.

Ccube me guessing me need another pair of trainers edi..
Currently wearing the hurricane, any recomendations for something nt as wide and for stability?

The Triumph 5 will be ideal. Cushioning + mild stability, not as wide as the Hurricane 10

Marvin, pace urself in the marathon as this is your 1st. Ultimate goal is to finish without suffering, timing is secondary for now. Dont go out with a fast pace, u burnt urself out towards the end like 30k or can be even 25k. Then jialat. I will be starting with a 6.30 pace and see how the body condition.

ccube, i'll see when i'm available and i'll inform you. u got progrid triumph 5 womens size US 7.5 or 8? available colours?
i read reviews on that model that the laces are kinda thin and wears out pretty easily...how true is that?
*
Yes I hv Triumph 5 in US7.5 and 8. Can try both and see which one fit better. If Sunday is better for you than I can meet u on Sunday at Lake Gdns ard 830am to 9am. As for the laces, although its thin but pretty hardy. No complain so far abt it snapping, so dont worry. Else change to Lock Laces then.

mine is at the middle of tapak kaki.. right foot. its like everytime i run for quite sometime then i wil start to feel the pain.. not everytime though. n i warm up al the time.
*
hard to tell with so little infor, i mean just saying pain at the tapak. One Q from me, how old is your current running shoe. Maybe due to lack of cushioning of the shoe, but i cannot 100% said that is the real cause.

my triump 5 feeling is going to dead soon...

estimated clocked about 500km above since Aug last year. Any suggestion for alternate shoe?
*
if u think the T5 is good, maybe get another pair with different color, else wait for Triumph6. but not sure if it will be available by jul/aug or not, and definitely the price will be higher. From the review there is not much diff between T5 and T6, only color change and minor design change.

hey guys..

hope ya'll having a good sunday tongue.gif me just woke up after doing a 21km this morning, still felt the after effects of my marathon and last weekend's 26KM Malakoff run but glad i came out unscathed

I wont be doing the SCKLM this year sadly, relatives wedding on the 27th June and ive been chosen to be the bridegroom's best man, pretty bummed up about it when I've already registered but heh family comes first...probably gonna continue training for Adidas KOTR

@RJDIO

its best if you could purchase the shoe from the shops or boutique's man, unless you have already a pair of shoe and you want to get another identical one then yes online might work...at least you'll know exactly what shoes you require furthermore you can test them rite there in the shops
*
You wanna selling ur running bib, let me know.

Guys

Need some advise.

I've been hydrating properly before runs, taken some bananas and all but cramps are happening all the time on my calves.

Any ideas? Am I lacking any nutrition? Or am I just lack of training(running?)??

My diet? As you can see from my journal. I take my multi vitamins everyday, 2 fish oil caps and occasional Glucosamine.

I eat more fruits nowadays, apples and banana.

Any ideas? Anyone experience same problem?

Cramps are happening ONLY on Calves. My quads and hamstrings are fine.
*
mostly cramps start from the calves. cud be lack of salt and cud be lack of training. the calf muscle are not used to such long distance.

The pain is at the kneecap. Not sure what it is called. But funny thing is, only my right kneecap hurts, left is alright.
*
wat is the model of the adidas.

i suspect ur right leg is over over-pronate ie landing inwards. the shoe may not hv the right stability to support ur running style hence causing knee pain. my comments is just based on the infor prvoided. it cud be something else.
