A = Best avoid any woofer beside the pc or LCD is it ok for my pc operates for nearly 24 hours everyday?? ( 13++hours for surfing net & normal usage, 6+hours for downloading, the rest used for casual on9 gaming & off9 gaming) A = A lot of people running them everyday. If you worry try get an external hd 1TB or so on.Just plug in it to back up or buy a few stack of DVD to burn if you worry it spoil. |

QUOTE(kayden @ Aug 11 2009, 04:21 PM) Hi there, how noisy is black caviar ? compare to blue ?Black caviar has dual processor built in so the performance (seeking & reading) is above the rest in its class. With 32MB cache buffer, it further enhances the seeking speed of Black Caviar. About the usb 2.0, it can carry up to 480Mb of data/sec. Opposed to SATA it can carry up to 3.0Gb/sec. So for your case, if u are talking about transferring file into the Black Caviar it has no significant improvement. But if u are seeking for files inside the Black Caviar, yes, it is faster than normal 16mb 1tb hdd. |

QUOTE(cherroy @ Apr 27 2010, 04:25 PM) It depended on their particular model. Did google for it , WD WD5000AAKS-00M9A0 and WD5000AAKS-00V1A0 is a single platter http://yertech.blogspot.com/2009/08/single...aviar-blue.html .But single platter is slow on seek time.Look for the model code/number, hit google and search, can easily get some review and details of it. We cannot say 500GB must be 1 platter, as there are still some old models in the market. But manufacturers now has started to move into 500GB per platter as their primary product line. Added on April 27, 2010, 4:28 pm If not mistaken, SATA speed is way over the physical ability of HDD can transfer, aka read/write. In other word, the speed is limit by HDD ability. Good for check single platter http://yertech.blogspot.com/2009/08/35-hdd...el-list.html#3w This post has been edited by Maxieos: Apr 27 2010, 07:06 PM |
