QUOTE(milky @ Nov 3 2008, 12:17 AM) @shock i dun quite understand the part that i bolded... i dun hav KL to select.... any ideas? hm...when you copy the KL files into your iphone using SSH/iphone tunnel or others, you need to copy in the whole folder, meaning put both the Maptiles.sqlitedb and com.apple.maps.plist into a folder name KL, then only you will see KL when u click offline maps thats wat i get the other day hopefully it helps

you should ssh the 2 files in the rar not the zipped 1.you also must create a folder call KL in the maps folder. I think I did mention at earlier post. Ya as Sam mention is the 2 files not the rar

Use "OfflineMaps". MapsOffline is kind of outdated software... There is also "xGPS" as well which IMO is more fully featured.

Yea I do use OfflineMaps. Save a route and import meaning to say pre-plot an offline route? I usually use the GPS... wouldn't that be easier and much less work? GPS is free after all...
Assuming I got your question right and you still want to do it your way, I think it is briefly mentioned on page 2 of this thread which is FYI before Google Maps route feature for Malaysia got updated. But you're not in Malaysia either right?

at 2.1 i can use offline maps...i am googling now to find anyone facing same thing anot..lol it seems that i read from china forums, they say the system for google maps in iphone is properly built. for example, the pin now got street address, got street view. somehow this prevented to old maps cache in... if you do reliaze there is history now as well....this mostly my speculation also...if anyone can use offlinemaps app in 2.2 pls show yourself else, i think i have to use old trick....load the maps myself., This post has been edited by Shock: Nov 23 2008, 07:31 PM

Yea there has been reports on other forums as well but it was not after the FW2.2 but when OfflineMaps released a preview version early November. Whens the last time you updated the OfflineMaps app?

I'm about 1% away from downloading the whole of West Malaysia + Singapore map. It's taken me 4-5 days (24/7) to get this using GMDP. I'm thinking it will be useful for road trips. There is approximately 1.2+ million files in 4000+ folders which amounts to nearly 5GB in size. Now, say once OfflineMaps gets updated to be compatible with fw2.2... do you guys reckon this ridiculously large cache file of mine will crash the Maps app?

I've got the 18gb. Should be alright. I don't have a lot of media on my phone. Not too worried about storage.

It takes 5GB just to map out West Malaysia alone? Streets, addresses and all the works? Where again did you get these files? Pardon me, was actually thinking of caching WM as well up till I saw this. It'd drown my meager 8GB
