nope... all ve hopped to the world of dual core... i am actually pretty "outdated" until there's a C2D in my home since last year...

it's juz a simple setup for Internet, BT, videos and media center...

thought of using E5200 + G31 + HD 3450, but the mobo really turn me off and performance of HD 3450 and HD 3300 is not that far off

if G45... nah, the graphic performance is bad in terms of light gaming...

and also wanna try sth new... never use a AMD system before, so thought of giving it a shot... also the option of Hybrid Graphic and PowerPlay in the future... and also compatible with AM3 CPU as well...

only need to buy CPU + mobo + RAM + heatsink... and price is not that far off from E5200 + G32 + HD 3450 also...

so yeah, AMD for me this time round... if not for the new socket i may stick with Intel...

If you're just gonna BT/surf on that rig, no point getting high end stuff. A good X2 would suffice. Unless maybe you're gonna watch full HD movies? haha even then I still think its good enough.

well, i am still open to other options...

Haha.. Why not Intel atom? Thats is a cost saving chip since ur only do BT and watching movies. Lotsa ppl takes atom as HT pc setup.

hmm.. HD movies also leh...

Atom = GMA950 only = no dedicated GPU... cannot lah...

sama-sama kawan..me also still stuck to sdrams..ur mobo dead already?

Microsoft said Intel is hitting the limits in design. While they can make it smaller and add more cores, the speed hasn't improved at all. And it would be harder for software developers as well since they have to optimize their programs to support more and more cores. But then again even though quad is out for some time, we still haven't see full use of dual core.

Did Intel knows that they can't go higher, so they chose to concentrate on other aspects?
